The former Archives Building was located on East Main Street in Xenia, Ohio. Built in 1869, this building over the years housed a grocery warehouse, a stable, an advertising business, and an auto parts store before becoming an archives in 1996. Dodds Monuments in Xenia, Ohio. Dodds has been making and engraving headstones since 1864. This cabin was built around 1799, by James Galloway, Sr. Mr. Galloway was one of the early settlers in Greene County. He was appointed the first Treasurer of the County. Today, the cabin is part of the Greene County Historical Society. The Charles Young Buffalo Soldiers National Monument. Charles Young was born into slavery in Kentucky, fought for the Union in the Civil War and was the first African American Colonel in the United States Army, leading the Buffalo Soldiers, the United States' first black cavalry. The Greene County Courthouse was built and completed in 1902. The Courthouse has a 145foot-tall clock tower. The Empire State building in New York is a 1,250 foot-tall building! The Carnegie Library, located in Xenia, Ohio was built in 1906. During the 1974 tornado, the building suffered damage and by 1978 the library was relocated. Antioch Hall, Antioch College, Yellow Springs, Ohio. Antioch College was founded in 1850 and the Hall was added to the National Register of Historical Places List in 1975. Lower Bellbrook Road Covered Bridge. There were over 50 covered bridges in Greene County. Now, only 4 are left. Orville Wright in flight over Huffman Prairie.
