NATIONAL PEOPLE'S CONGRESS ON THE ENGLISH TEXT
OF THE BASIC LAW OF THE HONG KONG SPECIAL
ADMINISTRATIVE REGION OF THE PEOPLE'S REPUBLIC OF
CHINA
(Adopted on 28 June 1990)
The 14th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the Seventh
National People's Congress decides: the English translation of the Basic
Law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's
Republic of China, examined and approved under the aegis of the Law
Committee of the National People's Congress, shall be the official
English text and shall be equally authentic as the Chinese text. In case of
any discrepancy in the meaning of wording between the English text and
the Chinese text, the Chinese text shall prevail.
