Speakers will include Ms Sandy Pitcher, CE Dept of Environment, Water & Natural Resources, Mr Ross Womersley, CEO SACOSS, Ms Ruth Ambler, Executive Director Cabinet Office, DPC, Professor Fran Baum, Director, Southgate Institute for Health, Society & Equity, Flinders University and Associate Professor Elizabeth Harris, Director, Health Equity Research & Development Unit, University of NSW. The symposium will include case studies from SA Health in All Policies, demonstrating the experiences of intersectoral action to promote wellbeing and health equity. More information and a program will follow. Sir Michael Marmot is Professor of Epidemiology at University College London, and President of the World Medical Association. He chairs the Commission on Equity and Health Inequalities in the Americas, established by WHO’s Pan-American Health Organization. He was Chair of the WHO Commission on Social Determinants of Health, which produced the report: ‘Closing the Gap in a Generation’. He conducted the Strategic Review of Health Inequalities in England post 2010 for the British Government, with its report 'Fair Society, Healthy Lives', and the European Review of Social Determinants of Health and the Health Divide, for WHO Euro and presented the 2016 Boyer Lecture series: Fair Australia: Social Justice and the Health Gap.
