Homework Friday 12th May 2017- Swans and Woodpeckers Maths Task – Shape This week, we have been learning about different types of lines (horizontal, vertical, parallel and perpendicular). See if you can spot some of these lines around you at home (indoors and outdoors). Write down the object that you see and which type of line it is. Sometimes an object will have more than one type of line! See if you can spot at least 5 of each line. railway track = parallel lines English Task Look at the spelling list for this term. From the third week’s list choose three words. Find out the definition for each word and then use that word in an interesting sentence. HOT CHALLENGE - Challenge yourself to use alliteration in one sentence, a simile in another and a fronted adverbial in the third! Reading You should be reading a minimum of four times a week. Please remember to ask an adult to write in or sign your yellow diary each time that you read. This week, if you find some words that you don’t know the meaning of, search for them on the internet as this will also give you a picture to reinforce the meaning. (If you don’t have access to the internet, check the definition in a dictionary or ask a grown up to explain. Creative Curriculum Task In French, we have been learning about the names of the people in our family. Please bring a photo in from home of your family so that we can write about them in class. If your photo needs to be returned, please ask your teacher to make a photocopy.
