Meet the Facilitators
All are qualified midwives or antenatal educators with a minimum of two years post
qualification experience and a specialist interest in multiple births.
Sharon Famiglietti
Sharon has been an antenatal teacher since 2007 and a childcare lecturer for advanced
level students on Cache nursery nurse courses. Sharon established the multiple birth
courses for Tamba and is responsible for training all teachers and ensuring the quality of
provision. Providing couples with informed choice and confidence to face the journey ahead
are priorities for her and she loves the excitement that multiples bring. After a roller coaster
ride of fertility treatment she is happily mother to two boys and lives with her husband in
Essex. Sharon teaches mainly in the London area.
Bridget Supple
Bridget has been an antenatal teacher for over 13 years with the NCT (the National
Childbirth Trust) delivering preparation for birth courses all over the country. Since 2004
Bridget has worked at Birmingham Women’s Hospital running and teaching the Parent
Education classes in a large specialist maternity hospital. She also writes the News for the
International Journal of Birth and Parent Education, lectures on baby brain development and
runs the Seeding Baby’s Microbiome page. Bridget is delighted have been teaching for
TAMBA in Manchester and Birmingham for over 5 years. Bridget passionately believes that
being more prepared for birth and parenthood helps make the transition easier, whether it is
as new parents or adding multiples to an existing family. She is an experienced, welcoming
teacher providing support and information for her clients and helping them to make the right
choices for them. Bridget lives in Shropshire with her husband and four children (two boys,
two girls) aged 15, 13, 10 and 8.
Charlotte Brockwell
Charlotte qualified as a midwife in 2001 and went on to work both in hospital and the
community. She has 2 girls of her own and found parenthood with all its ups and downs to
be the most important and beautiful journey life can offer. She currently works as a practice
nurse at a busy GP surgery in Weston-super-Mare. In her spare time she also breeds
alpacas and has a growing herd of 13 and counting!
Lorraine Gregory
Lorraine has a diploma in antenatal education from the University of
Bedfordshire and has been teaching NCT classes for over ten years. She was involved in
setting up multiple birth courses in her local area and has been teaching Tamba courses
since they first began. Lorraine finds it immensely rewarding to help new parents navigate
their way through the challenges of labour, birth and early days. She lives in Loughton with
her family and teaches there and in Finchley.
Naomi Kemeny
Naomi has a background in midwifery and worked as a school nurse and Homestart
volunteer. She has been a postnatal doula for the last 8 years, supporting families,
predominantly with twins. his regular contact gives her first-hand experience of
the challenges and joy that multiples bring. She has been teaching courses for Tamba since
2009 in her local area of East/West Sussex. She is also a postnatal doula mentor and
teaches training courses for postnatal doulas. Naomi is a mother of 3 grown up children and
has 3 grandchildren.
Julie Reynolds
Julie is a busy mother of two living in the Croydon area of South London. Her passion for
antenatal teaching was sparked after birth of her own children, when she undertook a
complete career change to pursue her dreams and gained her Diploma in Health Education
from the University of Worcester. She has since developed a special interest in twins and
multiples, and particularly enjoys helping couples to explore options and gain confidence in
making the decisions that are right for them around birth and early parenthood, as well as
assisting with the running of the local NCT Homebirth group. Julie teaches for TAMBA in
and around South London, Croydon and Kent.
Karon Watkin
Karon trained as a general and paediatric nurse then later did her health visiting
qualification. After having her first baby, she decided to stay at home and retrain as an
antenatal teacher for NCT. She went on to train as a postnatal leader too, and has been
busy running antenatal and postnatal courses for many years. After being asked by a friend
to be a birthing partner, she went on to attend many births as a doula and still enjoys
working as a postnatal doula. Karon also volunteers for La Leche and finds supporting
families with breastfeeding very rewarding. Karon lives in East London with her husband,
two daughters and Tommy the cockapoo!
Alex Sales
Alex is a mother to 22 year old identical twin boys and another boy aged 19 years. She has
been a midwife for 24 years and has experience in pregnancy, birth and beyond and
counselling. As a mother of twin boys and going on to have another boy she understands the
challenges and mixed emotions of expecting more than one baby. She was excited and felt
very special to have twins but also overwhelmed with thoughts of "am I going to cope?" Alex
has a keen interest in anything to do with multiple births and helped on TEDS research to
improve understanding and care of multiple births, she also volunteered on the TAMBA
Twinline for a number of years. Alex lives in South East London with her 3 boys and her
husband.
