#Badwater Bound
Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you may already know, this weekend, I will be traveling to Death Valley, CA to participate in
the Badwater 135 race. The race starts Monday night (7/18) at 8 p.m. (PST). Badwater 135 is one of the
most challenging endurance events in the world. It is a 135 mile ultra-marathon race (5 consecutive
marathons) in the 115+ degree temperatures of Death Valley. The race begins at 282 feet below sea
level (lowest point in U.S.) and rises to 8,000 feet above sea level, ending at the Mt. Whitney Portal.
There are only 100 runners accepted into the race from around the world. The cutoff time for
completion is 48 hours.
