Don Schick Memorial Football Scholarship
Criteria and Application
Don Shick was instrumental in building the Moline Junior Football program. Don’s goal and
dream was to improve the overall quality of the football program. He coached in the Moline
Junior Football league and at the two middle schools for over twenty years. In addition, he
helped coordinate the annual Moline Football M-Mens Golf Outing. Don was always behind the
scenes to do whatever was asked of him.
Through Don’s volunteerism and involvement in the John Deere Classic and Birdies for Charity
this Scholarship has been made available in conjunction with the Moline Youth Football
Association (MYFA).
The following criteria must be met in order to be considered eligible:
 Must be a current senior who played football at Moline High School.
 Must be planning to attend a two or four year college or university during the following
academic year.
 Must have a 3.0 GPA or higher.
 Must exemplify some of the characteristics that best describes Don Shick, such as:
dedicated to family, possessing leadership qualities, hardworking, compassionate, live
life to the fullest.
 Involved in extra-curricular activities.
 Must submit two letters of recommendation from coaches, teachers, or community
members.
 Must submit a one to two page essay describing how you exemplify the characteristics
of Don Shick, and why you are deserving of this award.
 Must complete the application and submit all materials by April 29, 2016.
