We will provide a comprehensive full service client
experience, offering a sense of belonging in a
comfortable atmosphere. We believe consultation is
the key to a successful salon visit and each client is
given the time and attention they deserve.
CONGRATULATIONS
You are now wearing one of the greatest systems of
Human Hair Extensions available.
This booklet is for you to read thoroughly so that you
may fully understand the best way to care for your
new hair, ensuring that you get the most out of them.
WE STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU DO NOT USE ANY PRODUCTS CONTAINING
SILICONE, ALCOHOL, ETHANOL, OIL OR PROTEIN.
Each of these ingredients can cause a reaction with the adhesion of
the extension tapes. Your Minx Stylist will show you what is to be used to ensure there is no damage
to your tapes and to keep your extensions healthy.
Although they are 100% Human Hair, your extensions are not being nourished by
your natural oils and vitamins like your own hair would be and therefore you need
the correct products to care for them.
By using products not recommended, you will risk irreparable damage to your
tapes and may also cause breakage and dryness to the extension hair.
Questions frequently asked...
How long will my extensions last?
Your extensions only need to be removed when your hair grows and the tapes
have moved down the hair shaft. This all depends on your hair growth rate which
changes from person to person. Generally anywhere between 6-8-10 weeks. The
best way to make your extensions last is to care for them correctly and use the
right products. Using the wrong products and not caring for them in the correct
way will make the hair feel and look less healthy and also cause the tapes to slip
or loosen.
Can my extensions be coloured?
Yes, they can be toned or darkened but cannot be lightened. We advise that any
change of colour to your extensions be done at Minx.
Can my extensions be permed?
Yes, but can only be done by a Stylist at Minx.
How have my extensions been coloured?
All extensions have gone through a chemical process to achieve their natural
colour result and therefore should be treated as bleached hair.
After 4-5 weeks some of my tapes have loosened?
You must use the prescribed products and care instructions. There are certain
ingredients in other products that can be harmful to the tapes and have adverse
results when used. Using the wrong brushes can also disrupt the tapes as the
brush bristles can get caught and snap your hair thus causing the extensions
to slip.
What styling tools can I use on my extensions?
Any styling tool can be used as long as hot tools are kept away from the tapes and
blow dryers are used on a low heat.
My extensions have become dry, brittle and matted?
The only way this could happen is if the care instructions that have been given
have not been followed. To fix the problem ask your Minx Stylist what treatment
they would recommend to repair the hair.
DO’S & DON’TS
❖ Only use shampoos, conditioners, treatments and other products
that have been recommended to you by your Minx Stylist.
❖ Always brush your hair before washing using only the extension
brush recommended.
❖ DO NOT tip your head upside down when washing.
❖ To wash your extensions spread the shampoo evenly over the wet
hair with a gentle pressing like motion using the palms of both
hands. DO NOT RUB the shampoo into the hair as this will create unwanted tangles. Rinse shampoo out well, squeeze out excess
water and towel dry the hair carefully.
❖ NEVER apply conditioner or treatments to the root/tape area. Only to
the lengths and ends of the extensions and always rinse thoroughly.
❖ Always dry your hair straight away. Do not leave it wrapped up in a
towel. Leaving the hair wet can cause a build up of bacteria that will
ruin the tapes.
❖ Only ever have your hair coloured professionally at Minx once your
extensions have been applied as all our stylists are aware of what
can and can’t be done with your extensions.

pre-lightened.
The hair is an Indian & Chinese blend of 100%
human hair, remy.
The slimline extensions are applied by the tape
system application method.

❖ Always use a low heat when blow drying extensions

❖ Do not sleep on wet or damp hair and always have the hair plaited
loosely when sleeping.
Includes:
❖ Your hair needs to be tied up whenever you are swimming or exercising.
❖ You are not to wash your hair within 48hours of having your extensions applied. This may cause tapes to loosen.
❖ Colouring your hair needs to be done at least 48 hours prior to extensions being applied to avoid the tapes not adhering properly. ❖ When using a heat styler (straightening iron, curling wand etc) be
sure to stay away from the tapes and do not work over the same
section.
