This definition applies from 23 July 2014 in accordance with Annex 2 of the Packaging Ordinance
2014.

(e.g. plastic film, aluminium, paper) is wound; except
rolls, tubes and cylinders intended as parts of production
machinery and not used to present a product as a sales
unit.

Version of 1 January 2017. ARA accepts no liability for the accuracy of the information provided.
Derogations apply to rolls, tubes and cylinders (roll or
winding cores etc.) around which flexible material is
wound, if they are intended for processing in an
automated manufacturing process. In this case, they are
considered non-packaging.

Roll or winding cores for flexible materials (e.g. pallet
shrink wrap, stretch film, silage film) that are intended

packaging.
Clothes hangers (sold with a clothing item)
CD, DVD and video cases (sold together with a CD, DVD
or video inside)
Mechanical quern (integrated in a refillable recipient,
e.g. refillable pepper mill)
Radio frequency identification (RFID) tags

The derogations for durable packaging no longer apply.
