2014/2015 Budget News – Shown below is
important information regarding the 2014/2015 budget:
All residents of the Greenwood Lake Union Free School District
are eligible to vote; our vote is NOT restricted to Village
residents.
The Library budget vote is separate from the school budget
vote and is held at the Library. Your Library tax appears as a
separate line item on your school tax bill.
The Library’s fiscal year runs from July through June.
The budget hearing will be on Friday, May 2nd, from 1-3 p.m.,
and will be publicized in The Warwick Valley Dispatch and The
Times Herald Record. Patrons are welcome to come to review
the proposed budget with Robert Fraser, Treasurer, and Sandy
Newman, Assistant Treasurer.
For those who are unable to make the hearing, the budget
materials will be available for review at the Front Desk. For
questions, please call Sandy Newman at Ext. 102.
The 2014-2015 budget vote is on Thursday, May 15th, 2014,
from 2-8 p.m., at the Library.
The Board of Trustees meets monthly and the date is listed on
our web site and on our entrance door; the public is welcome!
Local History Digitization Project Thanks – We would
like to offer our special thanks regarding our Local History Digitization
Project to:
Ann & Len Chaimowitz – who so graciously gave us permission to
upload the Greenwood Lake & West Milford News to our web site in a
digitized format so that our patrons may access it from a library or
from a home computer.
Ron Nowak – the newspaper’s editor, whose contributions to the
Greenwood Lake & West Milford News throughout the years, has
provided us with a rich history of the many facets of Greenwood
Lake’s past.
Stephen M. Gross – who, as a free-lance journalist for the
Greenwood Lake & West Milford News, gave us permission to digitize
and upload his enriching local history articles and images, which so
often appeared in the newspaper.
The Cox Family – for kindly permitting the Library to use the
donations made in memory of their parents, Everett and Viola Cox,
to digitize and upload the Greenwood Lake & West Milford News to
our web site. Everett and Viola Cox will always be remembered as
staunch supporters of the Library throughout their lives.
The Taxpayers of the Greenwood Lake Public Library – for their
generous support via donations of our ongoing Local History
Digitization Project.
Happy Spring!

brave men and women of our Nation’s military, who
have served and who are currently serving.
Thank you for your service!
Past, Present & Future
This project is made possible with funds from the Decentralization
Program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the
Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New
York State Legislature and administered by Arts Mid-Hudson.
Local History Digitization Project
We are in the process of digitizing the
Greenwood Lake & West Milford News for online
use. Our web site currently has available Local
History Digital Archives for 35 of Wilbur Christman’s
scrapbooks, as well as over 900 local obituaries.
Digitization is an expensive process. Please
consider making a donation to this important project;
you may use this coupon when doing so. Thank you.
Help keep Greenwood Lake’s rich history
alive for future generations of Lakers!
As always, your support of library projects
is appreciated. Thank you.
