Camp Victory Summer Staff Code of Conduct The Camp staff is a team committed to being a great influence on kids. This is accomplished through an environment of traditional Christian family values. Each person on staff acts as a role model. Camp Victory is in the business of changing lives for Jesus Christ. The staff will act in accordance to a standard of excellence to the best of their ability. The employee recognizes that they will be expected to abide by and cooperate with the Camp’s Code of Conduct. All Camp Victory staff must sign the Code of Conduct before beginning their employment. 1. It is understood that Camp Victory cannot assume financial responsibility for staff possessions such as cars, bikes, stereos, jewelry, etc. 2. Staff is not allowed to bring pets on camp grounds. 3. The staff at Camp Victory voluntarily submits and agrees not to use profane language, illegal drugs, tobacco products, and alcohol on or off duty while in the employ or as a volunteer of Camp Victory. 4. The staff will not engage themselves in premarital sex, homosexual activity or adulterous acts either on or off duty while in the employ of Camp Victory. 5. The staff will not abuse children physically, verbally, sexually, or mentally. Humiliating and frightening discipline techniques will not be tolerated. We encourage positive reinforcement and encouragement rather than competition, comparison, or criticism. 6. The staff must treat children and adults of all races and cultures with equal love and respect as God does. 7. The staff will do everything in their power to avoid being in a situation where they are alone with a child other than their own personal children. Fraternizing and baby-sitting Camp Victory campers away from camp on a one-to-one basis is prohibited while in the employ of Camp Victory. 8. Due to the lack of sleeping quarters during the summer, visitors, friends or relatives of Camp Victory campers or employees may or may not be allowed to spend the night during staff training or during summer camp, requests and permission is given to/from the Executive Director. All visitors must report to the Camp Office and be presented to the Executive Director. If visitors are coming, please notify the office prior to their arrival. 9. For the best interest of the Camp and program, radios, CD or MP3 players, cell phones or other electronic devices will not be permitted while in the presence of the campers unless it is being used as a teaching tool approved by the senior counselor. You may bring an electric or quartz clock without a radio for the camper cabins. 10. The staff should have a neat and clean appearance every day. Clothing displaying drug, alcohol or tobacco advertisements or immodest wording or pictures will not be permitted. Females must wear proper undergarments at all times. All swim suits should be of modest attire for both males and females. (No two piece swim suits). All hair must be neatly groomed and well kept. Males may not wear more than one earring per ear, and may not wear nose rings. Females may not wear more than two earrings per ear and may have a nose ring as a stud that is no bigger than .3 cm. No other piercings are permitted while working at camp. Gauges will not be allowed. 11. Staff may not change the appearance of any camper. This refers to haircuts, body piercing, or tattoos. 12. Shoes or sandals must be worn at all times while on duty at camp. An extra pair of old shoes or aqua socks (closed toe and back buckle) is required for any river activities. 13. Anyone viewing pornographic materials on the internet will be dismissed. Use of the office computers is by permission only. Use of the staff computer may only be used during staff time off.
