Find the surface temperature of mars in degree Celsius and Fahrenheit.
What is the orbit distance of mars in astronomical units (AU) ?
How long do you think would it take to reach mars from earth while travelling at
6,00,000 mph?
Find the distance of all the planets from the sun and their surface temperature. Draw the
bar graph and line graph for the data collected by you.
Presentation Work
Discovery learning takes place in problem solving situations where the learner draws on
his own experience and prior knowledge. It is a method of instruction through which students Interact with
their environment by exploring and manipulating objects or performing experiments.
We have identified few concepts which the students are expected to explore and develop a power point
presentation depicting their understanding about the concept. Refer to NCERT Mathematics Book of Class
VIII.
Roll No. 1- 8
The students will explore the properties of the different operations on rational numbers. Based on their study the
students
are expected to observe and analyse the following:
―If a property for a particular operation holds for rational numbers, will it also hold for integers and whole numbers?
Roll No. 9-16
The students will study different types of polygons and show the classification of polygons on the basis of (a) Number of sides or vertices
(b) Regular or irregular polygons
(c) Convex and concave polygons
Roll No. 17-24
Study the different types of parallelograms and list the similarities and dissimilarities
between different types of parallelograms. Find the properties of different types of parallelograms.
Roll No. 25 & above
Study square numbers and make a list of at least seven properties of square numbers.
Based on the observation of square numbers, find out how many non-square numbers
are there between102 and112 .
SOLVE spiral Worksheets 1, 3, 4, 8.

place located on Earth.
Find out which system is used for such NAVIGATION
Collect information on this system and make a
project report highlighting:
a) Full form and description
b) How it works (satellite geometry, ground
stations)?
c) History and development
d) Applications
e) Different car navigation devices.
