Give a long press to switch the player on During Play: Rock to the right to move to the next track. Rock to the right and hold to fast forward Rock to the left to move to the previous track. Rock to the left and hold to fast reverse Rock to the top to increase volume. Rock to the bottom to decrease volume. Press to PLAY, PAUSE, RESUME In a Menu: Rock right to go to the next menu/ choice. Rock left to move to the previous choice. Press to enter a menu /select a choice. STOP BUTTON: Long press to switch the player OFF. Short press during play to stop playback. M MENU BUTTON: Press to enter a menu or make a menu choice. Use for A-B repeat. HOLD SWITCH: Move the switch to LOCK/UNLOCK the player. UNLOCK LOCK All controls are disabled in lock mode. 3 Installing the player and software 4 Transferring files Windows 98 systems: Remove the USB cover and connect the MP3 player to the PC via the USB port. You can connect the player directly, or via the extension cable. The System will automatically find a new USB Device. Insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive. Follow the prompts on the screen to install the MP3 driver 2. When this window (shown right) appears: Click OK 3. The removable disk will be displayed. 4. Drag and drop files from your PC to the player If the USB driver is not automatically recognized by Windows 98SE: Go to Control Panel\System\Device Manager\Other Devices. Double click the "USB Device" with the exclamation or question mark.. Click the 'Re-install driver'icon. Follow the update driver wizard to complete the installation. Re-boot your computer after installation. To disconnect the player: Click on the 'Safely Remove Hardware' icon on the right of the taskbar. When the message 'Safe to Remove Device' appears, unplug the player. Windows 2000, ME, XP, Mac OSX: The system will auto-recognise the player. ! ! ! ! Set the HOLD switch to the unlock position UNLOCK Do not insert the battery or headphones. Plug the player into a USB port on your computer. The player displays "READY". You can upload/download files USB READY 5 DRM and Lyric Files ! ! 7 The Music Menu DRM Files are rights protected files downloaded from the Internet. The player supports DRM 9. For further information consult the User Manual which is bundled with the Utilities Disc. Lyric Files: You can download lyrics and store them on the player as a .LRC file. When you replay the song, the words scroll with the music. Full information is on the User Manual. Long Press to switch on. The player displays the MUSIC MENU and stops. ABOUT THE MUSIC MENU 6 Preparing the Player ! ! ! ! ! Install the AAA battery. Unwrap the battery. Slide the battery compartment cover off and insert the battery observing the+ and – marks. Replace the cover. Connect the earphones to the EARPHONE socket. Set the HOLD switch to the unlock position UNLOCK The player is now ready for use Track Number/ Total Tracks Play Status Play Mode (if selected) Normal/Repeat etc. A-B Repeat (if selected) Play Pause Stop Sound EQ Mode Song Title/Lyrics (Scrolling) HOLD (if selected) Full Battery A-B Empty Time Played/ Total Track Time During Play 8 Playing Music A Turn on the player. Press to Change Tracks. Press and Hold to Fast Forward/Fast Reverse. Play the music. Adjust the Volume. B When the Player is Operating M Enter the main menu. Enter the Music menu. Press to play. 10 Replaying Voice Files M M Press to Pause/Resume: Enter the main menu. Select “Voice”. Player enters Voice Replay Mode Start Recording Power Off Now release to switch off. Press STOP Select “Record”. M To Stop Recording Enter the main menu. Continue Holding Wait for the screen to go blank Press again to cancel A-B Repeat. M LOCK Switching Off the Player Press and Hold M Set the End Point (B) The section between the two points A and B will play repeatedly. 9 Recording Voice Files M Press to Stop. UNLOCK Use when you do not want the player to accidentally switch functions, e.g. when it is playing in a pocket. In Hold mode you cannot switch the player off. To restore normal operation, switch HOLD off. Set the Start point (A) M Select a song. M Press to Pause/Resume: A-B Repeat: To continuously repeat a segment of a song. Select “Music”. M The Hold Function Press & hold to return to the main menu M Enter the Voice menu. Select a voice message. M Press to play. 11 The Navigation Menu This menu gives you access to all the folders on your player. Typical Folders are Voice, Lyric, and Music. To access and play a MUSIC folder: M To access a specific VOICE or LYRIC file Enter the main menu. Select the Folder. Enter the menu. Select a Music Folder. M VOICE Select “Navigation”. M To delete a specific VOICE or LYRIC file Enter the Folder. The Beatles M Select a Track. Press to play. OR Press to play the folder contents. V005.WAV Enter the Submenu. To return to the main menu: Select Exit and press the MENU button. 12 Deleting Files Stop playback or recording before you use this function.. Files once deleted cannot be recovered! M Enter the main menu. Press to confirm. Select “Delete”. Select “Yes”. Enter the menu. Delete All/Delete One. To delete a single file:. Select “Delete One”. Press to delete all files ..Files Deleting To return to the Delete menu without deleting files: Press to Confrm Select “No”. Press to Confrm Normal, Repeat One, Repeat All, Select a repeat mode or none Random One, and Random All Adjust display strength Length of time backlight is lit Adjust recording parameters After the set time, if no activity player switches off Select the Parameter to adjust Press to confirm Exit Exit to Main Menu Restore factory settings Press the STOP button to return the superior level at any time.
