The 2nd STRATOCLIM annual meeting will be held at the Mathematic´s building
(FacultaddeCienciasMatemáticas),locatedinthe‘PlazadeCiencias’,intheUCMmain
campus "Ciudad Universitaria" . Theclosest Metro station is also named "Ciudad
Universitaria". It takes about 12 min. to walk from “Ciudad Universitaria” Metro
station to the Math´s building. The hotels recommended by the organization are
located in Arguelles area, also indicated in the map below. From the hotel to the
Math´s building you can either walk (about 35min), take a bus or the metro. We

The Madrid-Barajas Airport is strategically located just 12 km away from the city
centre. It has four terminals, and it is possible to transfer between terminals using
busesthatarefreeforallpassengers.
Terminal4isdividedintoT4andT4S(satellite).Youcantransferbetweenthemusing
thetrainbetweenterminalswithanapproximatejourneytimeoffourminutes.
TakingtheMetroattheairportisprobablythequickestandcheapestoptiontoreach
theMathematic´sbuildingatUCM.Itiseasytousefromanyoftheterminals.There
are two stations at the airport: Aeropuerto-T1-T2-T3 and Aeropuerto-T4. The
entrances are located on the first floor of terminal 2 (T2) in the connection corridor
withparkinglotP2,andonthefirstfloorofterminal4(T4)respectively.
There are various types of tickets you can buy and a fare called “Servicio Especial”
whichisrequiredtotravelfromanyoftheAirportMetrostations.Fortravellersusing
aTransportPassorTouristTravelPass,itisnotnecessarytopaythisspecialfare.

The Metrobus ticket is valid for 10 journeys either on Metro Zona Aor EMT (buses),

Colon-Airportroute.
Validationofanymetroticketismandatoryoneveryjourney.Forthispurposeithasto
beinsertedintheturnstilesatthestationofentry,aswellasintheexitturnstilesat
thosestationsthatareprovidedwiththem.
If the turnstile does not accept tickets that the users consider are still valid, they
shouldgotothenearestpointofsaleandtalkwithaMetroofficer.
