myConnect Web Portal…
 Remote Access – The myConnect portal allows for remote web access to various University applications via
most web browsers. The link to access the portal is https://myconnect.waynesburg.edu
 Use your University provided username and password to access the portal
 The portal has applications grouped within a variety of tabs such as Home, University Links, Help, etc
 Some important tips to note about the portal are as follows:
o
o
o
o
o
o
o
o
o
o
o
Quick Launch – is where you can directly access core University applications such as
 Email – labeled Webmail for Faculty/Staff and Live@Edu (Email) for Students
 Self Service – to access grades, unofficial transcripts, register on-line for classes, etc
 Blackboard – a Learning Management System used for on-line classes (one-time login needed)
Announcements – keep an eye out for important University announcements to be noted via the portal
e2Campus – available for Students, Faculty, and Staff to register for an emergency text message service
Weather, Top Stories, University Calendars, etc – variety of information portlets available to view
University Links – provides access to a variety of important links such as Student Handbook, etc
Help – provides access to portal documentation/FAQs/How To, a change password module, IT Request
Form, etc
File Storage – is made available through the University and is accessible by Students, Faculty, and Staff,
but through different means:
 File storage for Students is available through the Live@Edu application
 File storage for Faculty/Staff is available through an application called Fileway, which is located
within the Webmail (Email) link under Quick Launch (pending what browser you use, the Fileway
application will be located in a different location on the Email screen)
 Documentation on how to store and edit network files can be found within the Help tab. For
Students, Live@Edu contains its own Help system that explains how to use the Skydrive
Pop-up Blockers – if clicking on the Quick Launch icons (like Blackboard) appears to do nothing, it is
probably because you have your computer configured to block pop-ups. If you do not know how to adjust
your browser configuration to allow for pop-up exceptions, please look over the document “WUKB004807” under the Help tab in the How To folder.
Portal Access – very often it is the configuration of the PC you are working on or the browser you are
using that dictates whether you will successfully access the web portal or some application within the web
portal. Additionally, some Corporate firewalls may not allow access to portals within your work
environment. If you are experiencing problems accessing the portal or with applications within the portal,
please contact our Help Desk at 724-852-3413 for assistance
Portal Security – the portal does have some applications that contain content which is not delivered using
a secure connection (https), but since the portal is a trusted source it is safe to answer “yes” or “no”
accordingly to allow “all web page content”. In other words, if a pop-up dialogue appears that asks the
question “Do you want to view only the webpage content that was delivered securely?”, you should answer
“no” to this question, otherwise not all applications (portlets) will appear on your portal page. Please note
that the question is phrased differently pending the browser you are using, so please read the question
carefully before answering. Since this is a pop-up dialogue presented by the browser, we have no way to
prevent it from appearing or the ability to change the wording of the question
Signing Out (Logging Out) of myConnect – follow these two steps to Sign Out (Log Out) of myConnect
 Go to “my menu” located in the upper right corner of the myConnect Home page
 Then click on “Sign Out” from the drop down menu
 It is very important that you become familiar with ALL the features of myConnect as soon as possible.
Over time, more features will be added to the portal for you to utilize, so it is vital that you access the
portal on a regular basis and check your Email for information about changes to the portal and other
University issues.
