Trig Commissafiot of Kirkcudbright comprised the folloming Parishes in
the Stewartry, viz.--Anwoth, Balmaclellan, Balmaghie, Borgue, Buittle,
Carsphairn, Crossmichael, Dalry, Girthon, Kells, Kelton, Kirkcudbright,
Kirkgunzeon, Kirkmabreck, Parton, Rerrick, Tongland, and Twynholm,
The Parish of Minigaff will.be found in the Commissariot of Wigtown, the
others in that of Dumfries.
There is no Register of Testaments previous to I7th March I8o9,
when a Record of Confirmations begins, and is continued till 2oth
December i823. "/here exists a number of papers relating to Executries,
consisting of Scroll Testaments, Inventories, Edicts, Bonds of Caution,
&e., from 1he year i663. These are arranged in bundles under their
different years, and all down to 18o0 are included in this Index.
The other Records preserved in the Register House are-Processes, I665 to 1823, with Index.
Record of Inventories, I8O9 to I823, with Index.
Record of Settlements, I8O9to 1816.
Diet Book, I75o to I839.
There has been printed as an Appendix a list of the persons who
