for Hoodie Hoo Day!
What’s Hoodie-Hoo Day?
Well it’s a special day which falls on the 20th of February
every year and it is celebrated in a very strange way! On this day, all across the Northern Hemisphere, people
- wearing all sorts of costumes - run outside at noon, waving their hands in the air, and shout, “Hoodie-Hoo”
to scare away winter and make way for spring! So if you’re tired of winter like we are, be sure to join us at the
library on Monday, February 20th when we’ll countdown to noon and run outside to shout “Hoodie Hoo!”
We’ll follow our hollering with a dropin seed-starting workshop, where
you can help us get ready for planting
our library garden. Bring a small plant
sell pack or a cardboard egg-carton if
you’d like to start a few seeds to take
home. Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult.
Bring any extra clean planting pots and
potting soil to share!
We’ll also be launching our new Seed
Library for you to “borrow” from to
plant in your personal garden. Staff
and Master Gardners will be on hand
to help novice and experienced
gardners alike. More information will
be available when you stop by on or
after February 20th.
Come grow with us!
