What should you do in the event of things going wrong? Who should take responsibility when things go wrong? Professional judgement versus legal liability Issues can arise from time to time during engineering projects. It is a situation that every engineer could find themselves in. Engineers Australia would like to invite members of the engineering and legal fraternities to participate in a forum discussing project issues/risks and ways to minimise their impacts. Hear from keynote speakers as they describe first hand experiences in dealing with issues that they have been faced with. Learn from the strategies they have adopted to overcome issues and explore how these can be principles can be applied elsewhere. This is an excellent opportunity to hear from experienced professionals speaking candidly about engineering and legal issues they have faced and their results. About the Speakers Jan Hayes, Associate Professor - RMIT University Dr Hayes has 30 years’ experience in safety and risk management, her current activities cover academia, consulting and regulation.
