The mu ti-plrpose Head Frame has been devised
as an auxiliary opefating device in microneurosurgery The device positively fixes a patrents
head during ihe operation.
HeadFrameAssembly
The Basa Frame is mounted on top of a Head
Holder over the sterile drapes The Basal Frame
has iive separate positions spaced at 35' angles
where sell-reta ning retractors may be attached
usrng ihumb screws. At each end of the Basa
Frame are two holes io support the Hand Resis
and InstrumentReceptacle The angle and height
of the Hand Rests are adjustable to suit each
individual surgeon. The Insulated Instrument
Receptacleis attached at one of ihe holes on the
end of the Basal Frameand may be used to retain
bipolarforceps,hemostaticforceps,suction tube6
or otier micro-surgel, instru-lents. The seml
circular Baf mounted on the Basa Frameis used
to attach the Scalp Hooks, Cotton Pate or, at
times, a se f-retainingretractor
Head Holder (H)
The patients head is secured in the Head
Holder using 3 or 4 head pins li provides
a very rigid and siable fixaiion and may
be used for all body positions.The angle
of the patients head may be easiv adjusted
by the sufgeon,during surgeryif required.
