All-Time History vs. Manchester
The Stingrays and Monarchs had never met before the 2016-17
regular season. During five contests in the month of February, South
Carolina had a slim advantage with a record of 3-2. The first three
meetings came at the beginning of the month in Manchester, while
the Monarchs returned to finish the season series with two games in
North Charleston Feb. 17-18. The Eastern Conference Finals series is
also the first time the two squads have met up in the playoffs.
Can’t Stop Corbett
Defenseman Cody Corbett had a big night for South Carolina
in Monday’s 5-3 win over Manchester in Game 3 of the Eastern
Conference Finals, scoring his first goal of the postseason while
adding an assist to go along with a +3 rating. Named the first star of
the game for his efforts, Corbett got the offense started with his tally
that came just 44 seconds into the second period, blasting a shot by
Manchester goaltender Sam Brittain.
Milner Saving His Best For The Postseason
Goaltender Parker Milner has been great in between the pipes
for South Carolina during the postseason. While starting in all of
the Rays’ 14 playoff games, Milner has a goals against average of
2.07, a save percentage at 0.923, three shutouts and nine wins. The
netminder is high among the league leaders during the Kelly Cup
Playoffs. The Pittsburgh, Pa. native has done his best work at home,
allowing just 13 total goals in nine contests in North Charleston for a
GAA of 1.44 to go along with a save percentage at 0.950.
Perrier Breaks Through In Game 2
Defenseman Marcus Perrier got the offense going for South Carolina
in Game 2 against Manchester last Saturday, scoring the first goal
of the night for the Rays in the second period. The tally was the
Thunder Bay, Ont. native’s sixth career playoff goal and his first point
of the 2017 postseason. Perrier then added an assist in the third
period to record his first multi-point playoff game since a 2-goal
performance against Florida in 2015.

goals, two assists) each had four points against Manchester.
Cherniwchan Continues The Streak
Forward Andrew Cherniwchan has posted points in eight straight
games for the Stingrays dating back to Game 1 of the South Division
Finals in Florida. The fifth-year pro had at least a point in all five
games against the Everblades and has continued his run with assists
in the first three games vs. Manchester in the Eastern Conference
Finals. Cherniwchan now has 12 points in the postseason (five goals,
seven assists) while appearing in all 13 playoff games for the Rays.
Flick Among Top Playoff Performers
Forward Rob Flick has been one of the top offensive players in the

postseason scoring with 16 points. The London, Ont. native’s nine
goals is also third in the ECHL, while his 53 shots on net also ranks
fourth. Flick has two game-winning tallies during the playoffs, which
is tied for the team lead. The sixth-year forward was also the top
performer for SC during the regular season with 63 points (31 goals.
32 assists) in 60 games.
History On Their Side
During their 24-year ECHL history, the Stingrays have more playoff
wins than any other franchise with 119. South Carolina has qualified
for the postseason in 23 of their seasons, including 10 straight.
South Carolina has now advanced to the Eastern Conference Finals
in three consecutive years. The Rays’ three Kelly Cup titles are tied
with Alaska for the most of any team in league history.
Late Barrage Not Enough For Stingrays In Game 2
For a second straight game the South Carolina Stingrays got behind
early and came up one goal short to the Manchester Monarchs,
losing Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals 4-3 on Satuday night
at the North Charleston Coliseum. Both Marcus Perrier and Rob Flick
had a goal and an assist for South Carolina in the defeat, while Joe
Devin netted his third tally of the playoffs in the final period.
Rays Fall To Monarchs 2-1 In Game 1
Two second period goals and 21 saves by goaltender Sam Brittain
got the Manchester Monarchs a 2-1 win over the South Carolina
Stingrays in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals at the North
Charleston Coliseum last Friday night. Max Nicastro had the only
tally of the night for the Rays, while Parker Milner had another solid
outing in between the pipes with 25 saves. Manchester out-shot
