Dear Parent / Carer,
As the winter months approach we are preparing ourselves for any potential severe weather.
Our goal is to improve the flow of information and make the transportation of our students as safe as
possible on those days when we experience extreme weather in the Borough.
During periods of potential disruption we ask parents to:

If you do not have access to the internet, please listen to one of the following radio stations
Heart or Three Counties Radio.
If you find that either of the above sources are not clear or you require more information please
contact the school.
Severe weather conditions play an important role in whether a school can open and we want to be able
to provide you with as much information as possible before sending your children out to the bus stop in
the morning. There are some occasions where it will not be safe to operate school transport. We
therefore ask that you implement a plan for in the event that the bus does not arrive; please ensure
your children are aware of what they should do if the bus is any more than 30 minutes late.
Please note that if the school is open it does not automatically mean that it is safe for the
contracted school transport to run. We will be liaising with our operators and updating the
website above with details of any services that we are not able to operate.
In the event of worsening weather conditions during the school day, it may become necessary to
review the homebound journey I.E bring the return journey forward. In these rare instances the school
will contact parents to advise you of the alternative transport arrangements.
