HONOURING NICK PROWSE
This past September, alum Robert Dixon (Ellis '94) warmly
invited the Brentwood alumni community to join him on
campus for an evening in celebration of Nick Prowse and his
thirty-five years of service to Brentwood. During the
September 26th evening, 100+ of Nick's former students came
together for an incredible meal, and reminiscent conversation
in the Centre for Arts and Humanity, located on Brentwood's
beautiful waterfront. Remarks were given by Marius Felix
(Whittall '77), Nadine Sheppard (Alex '82), Dwaine Van Eeuwen
(Senior '73), and Robert Dixon. Their expressions of gratitude
and anecdotes from years past, brought tears, laughter, and
most importantly, left everyone with a feeling of deep
appreciation for a man who has given so much to make
Brentwood the incredible school it is today.

A portion of ticket sales went toward the Nick Prowse Bursary
Fund, established in 2014 by Dwaine Van Eeuwen, in
appreciation for the support Nick offered him as a student,
and for the financial assistance that allowed him to become a
graduate of Brentwood. The Nick Prowse Bursary Fund will
provide annual financial aid to a boarding student who
demonstrates a desire to experience Brentwood and a
willingness to participate in all that its programmes offer, and
who, without assistance, would otherwise not be able to
attend. If you would like to hear more about this fund, please
contact Lara McDonald at [email protected]

ALUM HOSTED TO PUB NIGHT
3
In the spirit of staying connected, James Larsen (Privett '99),
hosted an informal alumni gathering this past October in
downtown Toronto, at Drake 150. After a successful evening
of refreshments, laughter, and a little bit of networking, this
group has set out to grow this gathering! With the intent of
making this a quarterly after-work affair, James and
company are calling all Toronto based alum to update their
contact information, so communication of this gathering does
not go unseen!

**Event notifications are sent on a regional basis, so if we
don't have your correct location, you will not be on our
distribution list! Please email [email protected]
to update your information, and stay tuned for an email from
James Larsen in the new year, announcing the date of the
next Toronto pub night!
Brentwood vs. SLS DUEL
This past October marked the Second Annual
Brentwood/Shawnigan Duel Race, where alumni
athletes from each school competed in a friendly
500m sprint on Brentwood's waterfront. One of Brentwood's
boats consisted of eight out of our twenty-two Olympian
rowers:
Cox: Tam Barkley ’83
8: Blair Horn ’79
7: Malcolm Howard ’01
6: Dave Ross ’81
5: Darren Barber ’87
4: Spencer Crowley ’07
3: Dave Calder ’96
2: Pat Walter ’77
1: Scott Frandsen ’98
Brentwood was victorious in this friendly competition! Taces
were followed by a delicious lunch at the Head's residence,
where cres celebrated and had a chance to catch up.

Annual Giving
MAKE A GIFT
With our '15-'16 annual giving campaign well
under way, we would like you to take a
moment to see what contributions allowed us
to enhance at Brentwood last year! We worked
with some students in the production of this
year’s video which I hope you find informative
and compelling. As you may know, this yearly
campaign is a vital part of fundraising at the
school and its success depends on broad
participation every year. Do remember that
Every Gift Counts!
2016 Reunion
