THE MOST HOLY BODY AND BLOOD OF CHRIST, MAY 29, 2016
The Mercy Works theme for June is
“Visit the imprisoned.”
As
Disciples of Christ and members of
His
Church, we are all called upon to be
His hands, extending mercy and love to those
among us who are in prison. Did you know that
within the six counties of the Diocese of Camden,
there are nine prisons and jails? Across these
facilities, over 100 Catholic volunteers serve
inmates’ spiritual needs while they are in prison. If
you feel called to “Visit the Imprisoned” as a
volunteer or would simply like to learn more about
this ministry, join Catholic Charities for a Prison
Ministry Day of Reflection on Saturday, June 4.
This year's featured speaker is Father David Link, a
well-known prison chaplain from the Diocese of
Gary Indiana with an inspiring personal story and
commitment to ministering to the imprisoned.
Attendees will also hear from former inmates who
will share their experiences of prison ministry and
its impact on their lives. The event will take place
from 9 a.m.to 2:30 p.m. at the former Sacred Heart
School, 1010 East Landis Avenue, Vineland, NJ.
Contact Sister Mary Lou Lafferty to register:
856-342-4106. All are welcome.
Dear Lord, may I see your face in those who are in
prison. May my heart be filled with urgency to act
on their behalf in honor of you. Amen.

Almighty God
We stand before you in supplication,
Asking Your Divine mercy and protection,
To envelop with Your invincible armor,
Our loved ones in all branches of the service.
Give them courage and strength
Against all enemies,
Both spiritual and physical,
And hasten their safe journey,
Back to their homes and families.

That they be gathered to Your bosom,
With the eternal vanguard of the saints,
Let their journey to Your everlasting arms
Be swift and painless,
Where they may stand in honor and glory,

the enthusiasm, and
hard work of a very
long carnival week
is to get people to

CARNIVAL PRAYER SERVICE
On Thursday, June 23rd at 7PM, we will have a
Prayer Service in Assumption Hall. We always
pray for the social and spiritual success of all our
Parish Community efforts. Immediately following
the Prayer Service, we will have a short question
and answer period to help explain the Carnival
operation and the rules of the games. T-shirts will
be handed out to the captains at that time.
ALL ARE WELCOME TO ATTEND.
TAKE NOTICE!!!!
If you are unable to volunteer for the Carnival,
maybe you would like to supply desserts or
snacks during the week. You may drop it off at
the Hospitality Room at night or at the Parish
Center during the day.
