Prompt:
What "Big Question" would you like to explore further as a student at Regis that roughly falls
under one of the four themes below? How would exploring this question deepen your
commitment to social change? What specific project(s) related to this question can you imagine
initiating once you are a student that would make a positive impact on our campus or in the
wider community? Be specific in your response and integrate examples from your own personal
experience and course work.
We invite you to focus on one area, but welcome connections to other areas, if appropriate, for
your “Big Question.” Scholarship applicants will be awarded in part based on their approach to
the integrative nature of their “Big Question.”
The Integrative Core courses at Regis are deliberately value-laden and aimed at developing
leaders in service to others. Each course is organized around one of the following themes:
 Diversity & Cultural Tradition
 Global Environmental Awareness
 Justice & the Common Good
 Search for Meaning
These themes cross disciplinary boundaries and require students to adapt from one situation to
another in order to answer questions about challenging issues. Finally, the courses ask students
to take an informed stance that addresses the complexities of these issues.
