Mathematics and Physics 1. In the field of Physics, the five contributions required must be articles published in journals found under any of the categories of the JCR Science Edition, out of which at least four must be of high impact (first quartile) or three of high impact (first quartile) and two of medium impact (second quartile). To obtain a positive evaluation in the field of Mathematics, it is enough to have five published articles in journals found in the JCR Science Edition, of which at least three must be high impact (first quartile) or all of them must be of high or medium impact (first or second quartile). Field 2. Chemistry. All five contributions must be articles published in journals found within the first quartile of the scientific areas they belong to in the JCR Science Edition. Field 3. Cellular and Molecular Biology. Some of the following requirements must be met: 1) 5 articles published in journals situated in the first quartile (high impact) within the scientific categories or areas they belong to in the JCR Science Edition. 2) 5 articles published in journals situated in the second quartile (mid level) within the scientific categories they belong to in the JCR Science Edition, as long as the author has a relevant role in at least three of them. 3)The number of contributions situated in the third quartile cannot surpass two and there cannot be more than one in the fourth quartile (including book chapters), as long as the rest of the contributions are at least of second quartile and the applicant has a relevant role in all five contributions. 4) Alternatively, a positive evaluation can be obtained with 5 contributions, if at least three of them are very high quality (first decile in the Molecular and Cellular Biology area) and the applicant has a relevant role in all of the publications. A publication is considered relevant if the solicitant is the first in the list of authors, is the project director or is the author responsible for the correspondence. When considering an article published in a first decile journal, the position of the applicant within the list of authors will not be relevant. Field 4. Biomedical Sciences. To obtain a positive evaluation in the areas of Biomedical Sciences, both basic and clinical, at least one of the following requirements must be met: a) 2 articles published in journals situated in the first quartile, as well as three in the second quartile, within the pertinent scientific categories in the JCR Science Edition journals. b) 3 publications in first quartile journals, along with one second quartile publication and another third quartile publication in scientific journals classified within these categories in JCR Science Edition. c) 4 articles published in first quartile journals, along with another lower level one within the scientific journals classified within these categories in JCR Science Edition. Field 5. Natural Sciences. To obtain a positive evaluation in the field of Natural Sciences, 5 publications must be presented in JCR Science Edition journals, meeting one of the following conditions: (a) all the articles must be published in journals ranking, at least, in the second or third quartile (mid‐level but average relevance), (b) at least 3 of the articles must be published in highly relevant journals (first decile), (c) at least 4 of the articles must be published in first quartile journals (high relevance). Field 6. Engineering and Architecture. Subfield 6.1 Production and Mechanical Technologies. To obtain a positive evaluation in the field of Production and Mechanical Technologies, at least four of the submissions must be patents which meet the criteria established and recognized (See footnote 2)2 or articles published in high level journals (first quartile) included within JCR Science Edition. Subfield 6.2 Communication, Computation, and Electronic Engineering. To obtain a positive evaluation in the field of Communication, Computation, and Electronic Engineering and in compliance with points a), b) and c) of section 3, at least one of the following conditions must be met: 1) two scientific contributions of major relevance and one lesser one but with sufficient relevance. 2) one scientific contribution of greater relevance and three of lesser but sufficient relevance. 3) five scientific contributions of lesser but sufficient relevance. In any case, among the combination of scientific contributions, at least two of them cannot be conference proceedings. Subfield 6.3 Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction and Urban Planning. To obtain a positive evaluation, for technical profiles, in the areas of Architecture, Civil Engineering, Construction and Urban Planning, at least three of the submissions must be of types 3.a), 3.b) or 3.c). For guidance purposes only, it is established that to obtain a positive evaluation, for non‐ technical profiles, in the areas of Architecture, at least two of the submissions must be of type 3.a), 3.b), or 3.c) (See footnote 2). Field 7. Social, Political, Behavioral and Educational Sciences. To obtain a positive evaluation in the areas of Psychology and Library Sciences and Documentation, at least four of the five submissions must be articles published in journals which meet the criteria established in section 3.a) (See footnote 2) [i.e. Articles published in journals of recognized merit, accepting as such those included in scientific fields of the Journal Citation Reports (Social Sciences Edition) and in the Journal Citation Reports (Science Edition) of the Web of Science. Also those articles published in journals of recognized merit accepting as such those included in the SCOPUS lists 2 Section 3. Among the submissions, the following will be evaluated preferentially: a) patents in exploitation, proven by means of a purchase/sale contract or licensing contract, and the patents licensed through the Spanish Patent and Brand Office using the prior exam system. The geographic extension of the patent protection will be taken into consideration (national, European, international), giving a higher evaluation to the most extended protection. b) Works published in renowned journals, understanding as such those that occupy relevant positions in the scientific listing in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) Science Edition or social Sciences Edition in the year of publication. Other articles which will be considered are those published in journals found in international engineering databases (such as TRIS electronic Bibliography Data and International Development Abstracts), international indices of architectural publications (Avery Index to Architectural Periodicals of the Avery Library‐Columbia University‐; Arts and Humanities Citation Index of the Web of Science). Electronic journals will be considered if they are listed in the WoS or meet the criteria required for journals specified in Appendix I of this resolution. Excluded from this category we can find those submissions which, in spite of being published in journals of renowned merit, do not have a minimum extension, such as notes or discussions of previous articles already published in the journal. c) Books and book chapters, when published in well renowned publications, in which the evaluation will consider the number and quality of the references, when possible, or other impact measurements, as well as the international prestige of the editorial, the editors, the collection in which the work is included, the selection and evaluation process of original works, and the bibliographical references in specialized scientific journals. Conference presentations published in proceedings books are specifically excluded from this evaluation. and in the Arts and Humanities Citation Index of the Web of Science] and three of them must be published in impact journals situated within the first and second quartile of their category. Field 8. Economic and Business Sciences. To obtain a positive evaluation in the fields of Economic and Business Sciences, one of the following conditions must be met: a) That the four submissions are articles published in journals occupying relevant positions in the listings mentioned in section 3.a) (See footnote 2): the works published in journals of recognized merit, accepting as such those which occupy relevant position in the listings by scientific disciplines of the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) Social Sciences Edition and JCR Science Edition of the web of Science as well as in SCOPUS. b) That at least two of the five submissions are articles published in journals of significant relevance within the areas of Field 8 found in JCR Social Sciences Edition or JCR Science Edition. The rest of the submissions can be those that meet the criteria established in section 3 (See footnote 2). In all cases, information regarding references received for each submission will be valued, using the journal impact factor as a general reference. Field 9. Law and Jurisprudence. The publication in both national and international specialized and renowned scientific journals will be seen as a quality index which will preferably meet the criteria specified as Scientific Committee of the journal, peer review, regularity, quality of the journal publication, publication or original research,… indexation in specialized data bases…. The electronic journals will be subject to the same criteria as the rest of them. The translation of the work to other languages of relevance for the international scientific community and of references in specialized scientific journals will be considered a quality indicator. Field 10. History, Geography and Arts. In the assessment of articles, the focal point will be the methods of scientific communication used, accepting as a quality indicator the publication in journals of renowned merit. The inclusion of the journal in international data bases will be considered an indicator (for example, Francis International Bibliography of the Social Sciences (IBISS), Arts and Humanities Citation Index of the Web of Science, Journal citation Reports Social Sciences Edition, Bibliography of the History of Arts (RLG), Historical Abstracts, International Medieval Bibliography, RILMS Abstracts of Music Literature, etc.). Articles published in journals which occupy relevant position in SCOPUS, in journals listed in other national or international databases (such as ERIH, DICE‐CINDOC, etc.), or in journals accredited by the FECYT will also be considered, as long as, in the opinion of the assessment committee, they are of similar quality to those included in the above mentioned indices. They must also meet the criteria specified in the previously mentioned: Scientific Committee of the journal, peer review, regularity, quality of the journal publication, publication or original research,… indexation in specialized data bases…. In the evaluation of books and book chapters, the quality indicators taken into consideration will be the number of references received, the prestige of the editorial, (according to, for example, the ranking published in Scholarly Publishers Indicators or other similar indicators); the editors; the collection in which the work is published; references in specialized journals, translations of the work into other languages and its inclusion in independent bibliographies of the author and his or her environment. Following these quality indicators, the monographic catalogues of artists or catalogue raisonné will also be evaluated and must clearly show that they derive from research, are an esthetic reflection or theory of art. To obtain a positive evaluation in the areas of History and Arts, at least one of the submissions must be a monograph research book widely disseminated and with international references, and meeting the requirements established above; or two of the submissions must be articles published in international journals which meet the requirements; or one of the submissions must be an article published in an international journal which meets the criteria mentioned above and one more submission, a book chapter, in a volume which meets the requirements indicated for books. For guidance purposes, to obtain a positive evaluation in the areas related with Geography, a minimum of three articles published in JCR Social Sciences Edition or SCOPUS indexed journals, the other two submissions being books or book chapters published in well renowned editorials according to the SPI ranking (Scholarly Publisher Indicators) for the evaluation of book editorials in Humanities and Social Sciences. Field 11. Philosophy, Philology and Linguistics. To obtain a positive evaluation in the fields of Philosophy, Philology and Linguistics, at least two of the submissions must be a monograph research book with dissemination and international references and which meet the requirements indicated in section 4; or two submission must be articles published in internationally ranked journals which meet the criteria set out in Appendix I of this resolution (Scientific Committee of the journal, peer reviewed, regularity, quality of the journals, publication of original research… indexation in specialized data bases…); or one of the submissions must be an article in an international impact journal and the other a book chapter in an international volume which meets the scientific requirements indicated for book chapters.
