MISSION 1: “For Crown or Colony?” Part 4: From Bad to Worse (March 5, 1770) Post-‐‑Game Discussion Questions After you witness the Boston Massacre 1. Write 3 sentences that describe what happened in King St: It was a mob scene. There were hundreds of people there all shouting and screaming. The Patriots were throwing snowballs and were taunting the soldiers. They soldiers in turn aimed their guns. I guess one of the Patriots nailed a Redcoat fell on the ground and the Redcoats started firing their weapons. NOW DECIDE: 2. Did the crowd provoke the soldiers? ++ Yes No Not Sure What I saw & heard that makes me say this: I heard someone in the crowd say, “I come if you dare, but I know you dare not!” They also threw snowballs and ice at the Redcoats. There was screaming and shouting everywhere. It was really crazy and I didn’t like it. When the Redcoats aimed their guns as a sort of a warning, one of the Patriots nailed a Redcoat on the head and fell over. It obviously showed that the Patriots weren’t going to quit any time soon. 3. Did the soldiers threaten the townspeople? Yes No ++ Not Sure What I saw & heard that makes me say this: They kinda warned the Patriots when the aimed their guns to set their sights to fire. But one of the Patriots nailed one in the head so that provoked the Redcoats to fire because the Patriots actually hurted one of the Redcoats. I guess they did threaten the townspeople but I think they had a legitimate reason to because the townspeople threatened the soldiers before the Redcoats fired.
