Educators everywhere recognize the important contributions parents make toward a child’s
success in school. There is no question about it – success at school begins at
home. Parents are the single most important variable in a child’s schooling.
Another important component of a good school is the partnership between the school and parents who work together for the best interest
of children. The close partnership between home and school is one of
the exceptional strengths at Jane Ryan. Thank you for your continued
support.
Our goal at Jane Ryan is to help your child experience academic, social
and emotional growth during this school year, as well as in subsequent
school years. You will find that we are deeply committed to the learning
of every child in our school community. I thank our Staff who have high
expectations for all our students. They have already spent countless
days before school starting to get their classrooms ready and prepare
for the children.

New Playground Equipment
On June 25, 2015, a group of GE volunteers,
Father’s Club members and staff members
helped to install additional playground equipment
on the primary grade playground at Jane Ryan.
It was a hot day and hard work, but, the results
were worth it! We are thankful for the funding
provided by a GE grant and the Father’s Club.
Ben Meyer, a GE employee and Jane Ryan
Dad, shared his experience with Mrs. Bolton:
“I took my kids, who will be starting kindergarten at Jane Ryan this year, to the playground over the weekend and they loved
it. Just wanted to share this picture and say
thank you!”

Back-to-School Clean Up Day
Jane Ryan families braved the heat and dirt on August 15th to get the school grounds ready
for another wonderful year. Families took on the big task of pulling weeds, spreading mulch
and picking up litter in the surrounding garden beds. The kids enjoyed helping out, time
with friends as well as seeing butterflies, toads and even a praying mantis. A huge thank
you to all who volunteered and helped out. What a difference you all made!
The next All-School Clean Up Day will be held in late April. We hope to have many more
volunteers next time and community service hours will be available for any high school students.
If your family is interested in maintaining one of the
garden plots for the year or you have any
questions please contact Megan Watson at
[email protected].
