FIRST DAY ARRIVING AT SCHOOL
FROM THE PRINCIPAL’S DESK
It’s always exciting to be part of a brand new school. In this, our first newsletter, I invite you to join us as we
begin our journey at Greenwood High, Bannerghatta. While it is wonderful to watch the infrastructure gradually
take shape, it is even more satisfying to experience the new Greenwoodians grow as they learn and play in our
beautiful campus. In the six short weeks that we have been in operation, so much has transpired that it is
nearly impossible to record every significant happening. However, we have attempted to encapsulate most of
the events and achievements pictorially while keeping the written text down to a minimum.
Enjoy!

JUNE, 2016 HIGHLIGHTS
ON THE DAY OF ORIENTATION
YOGA CLASS
Kids are exposed towards the various co curricular programmes from Day1
Quality health and physical education programmes can be life-changing for today’s young
people and, in many cases, already are. Such programs offer students a well-rounded
opportunity to develop their bodies and minds to gain skills that will propel them to
success in both the physical and academic aspects of education and life. Good HPE
programmes provide the structure and discipline that young people need to perform in
school effectively, make positive choices in their lives, persevere to see a project through
to the end, and earn the respect of their peers

LA FETE NATIONAL DAY CELEBRATION
GIFT WRAPPING COMPETITION
While it’s true that it’s the thought that counts most, it’s also true that adding gift wrap actually creates a favorable attitude toward
receiving the gift itself in the recipient. Wrapping a gift is about so much more than ensuring the element of surprise for the recipient.
Gift wrap adds a beautiful personal touch to the art of gift-giving—one that tells a dear friend or loved one that you put your heart into
every step of the process.
CLASS ROOM ACTIVITY TO MAKE MATH MORE FUN!!!
Class Room Activity to make Math more fun!!!
Mathematics is a methodical application of matter. It is so said because the subject makes a
man methodical or systematic. Mathematics makes our life orderly and prevents chaos.
Certain qualities that are nurtured by mathematics are power of reasoning, creativity,
abstract or spatial thinking, critical thinking, problem-solving ability and even effective
communication skills.
Mathematics is the cradle of all creations, without which the world cannot move an inch. Be
it a cook or a farmer, a carpenter or a mechanic, a shopkeeper or a doctor, an engineer or a
scientist, a musician or a magician, everyone needs mathematics in their day-to-day life.
COMPUTER LAB STORIES!!!
Education has benefited from the inclusion of technology and computers by
making it easier for students to keep up while helping teachers by improving the
way lessons can be planned and taught. Computers make the learning process
a lot simpler and efficient, giving students access to tools and methods of
communication unavailable offline. Students who use computers have been
shown to attend school more steadily and perform better than students who do
not use computers. Along with getting higher grades on exams, students also
stated they felt more involved with their lessons and work if they used a
computer. Using computers gets students to become more focused on their
work at home, in collaborative projects with other students and on their own.
KNOWING THE WORLD OF PLANTS
Knowing the World of Plants
For all forms of life, plants form the basic food staples, and this is just one reason why plants
are important. They are the major source of oxygen and food on earth since no animal is able
to supply the components necessary without plants. The fish we eat consume algae and the
poultry we eat feed on plants/seeds, so even if you’re not a fan of salads, your food source
relies on plants.
Kids are getting familiar with the plant world, learning about Shrubs, Herbs and Trees.
FUN TIME PLAYING WIZARD OF WORDS
PRESENTATION ON WASTE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
Childhood is the span of life which is considered as the best time for a child’s mind and body to grow as this is the time when our heart and mind
is open to learn and absorb whatever we see or feel around us. Therefore, it is very important to ensure that they are exposed towards all the
positive and right things in their surroundings. Here in Greenwood High we take a small step closer towards making a better tomorrow by
educating the kids and ourselves on waste management system. Please join your hands and walk together ahead with a promise to become a
responsible citizen each and every day.
