Dear all skating friends! I have a passion for sport in general and skating in particular. After more then 20 years in Swedish Figure Skating (SFSA) and almost as long as a judge/referee/technical controller within the ISU as well as several years in the Swedish Olympic Committee and Swedish Sports Association, I have a lot of experience of the sporting world. As manager of different companies in diverse markets as well as in many different countries I have a broad knowledge of running businesses within finance, communication across borders and marketing. Nothing is too small or big. I’m sure I can bring a lot of that knowledge for the future ISU together with all of you. I would be honored to serve on the Members behalf in bringing the ISU forward. On a professional base I have been Managing Director/CEO and CFO in different fields; the IT-sector, technology, Marketing and Public Relations. My international engagement also stretches into my professional life, as a CEO of a tech company, listed at the Swedish Stock Exchange, having subsidiaries in six countries I have met different cultures in many ways, and learned the importance of reliable reporting, accuracy and honesty. I have the experience, background, time and driving force to pursue the vision. Bringing our sports strengthened into the future. I would engage whole hearted and it would be an honor. I hope for your vote 2016. Yours sincerely, Katarina Henriksson We must: Have a clear vision and a solid strategy, Be open to change adjusting to present and future goals, Redeem integrity and trust by good governance. We need to: Modernize, continue to develop and engage in new and traditional channels, Become more attractive for future athletes, in all regions and countries, Put our athletes in focus, always and in all aspects, being open to new perspectives doing so. Katarina Henriksson, Sweden Nominated for ISU Council Sport development & growth Democracy, transparency, responsiveness A clear vision and a solid strategy is the foundation that brings any organization and its objectives forward, adjusting to the present and reaching future goals. The ISU need that clear vision and strategy, both short and long term, in order to grow and flourish. We need to modernize, continue to develop and engage. Never stand still. The same way the sports we love and represent need that injection of energy, of visibility and growth. Certain things are of great importance to that process. Nothing of the above can be done without integrity and trust; achieving this demands good governance. We need to create an environment where commercial growth is stressed to be of high importance. It is essential to both athletes in general and the ISU in large. Expanding income by new perspectives, collaborations and growth in interest from both possible partners, new audiences and the new generations in ISU sports. That will render more commercial opportunities and revenue. Our athletes are the foundation of the sports, so they have to be our primary focus, always. To do so we need to advance the development programs, to set a great effort into R&D in order to prevent injuries and discover new methods. An Athletes’ Commission is essential, a commission that the athletes are aware of that they can influence. One that is open to change. We need to be open to change in order to assure an improved future for the ISU sports. Steps has already been taken in parts, however it has to become a part of our DNA, and a part of all aspects of what we do and plan for. In an ever-changing world and climate of conversation, the presentation and engagement in and with our sports has to develop and become more attractive for future athletes, in all regions and countries. Increasing the angles on how it is represented and presented in traditional and new media. One part is the athletes but we also need to look into structures on how to engage more people worldwide in sharing and caring about the ISU sports.
