A WEEK OF CHEAP EATS
Hungry but lacking cash? Here’s a week’s worth of meal deals
that will have you eating like a king on a pauper budget!
You’re a student, you’re on a student budget,
you’ve just finished class and you’re starving!
It’s time to eat, but the thought of heading
home and eating two minute noodles when
you had them last night and the night before
that just does not appeal. So what’s a hungry
student to do? Well my friend, lucky for you
you’ve come to the right place! Allow me to
present a list of mouth watering, deliciously
tasty places to eat at on the Gold Coast every
night of the week! And the best bit? They are
all within even the tightest student budget!

MONDAY // It’s Monday. Your alarm goes off, you groan
and you fall back asleep hoping when you wake up it was all
a dream and it will actually be Saturday. But then that pesky
alarm pierces your eardrums again, you wake up and realise
it’s still Monday and you’ve just woken up with a severe
case of Mondayitis. Lucky we have just the cure for you to
get you through the day and make Monday one of the best
days of the week! And all you’ll need for this budget friendly,
Mondayitis-busting dinner is the loose change in your pocket!
Drum roll please… Let me present Waxy’s Irish Pub! This
popular Surfers Paradise pub will satisfy even the hungriest
person with the biggest case of Mondayitis, with their juicy
$3 rump steak (no that’s not a typo it’s seriously $3!). Add on
chips and salad for a little bit more loose change, and you
have a meal fit for a king on a pauper budget.
If steak doesn’t appeal, Monday night is also $1 wing night
right across the Coast. Cooly Hotel in Coolangatta, House
of Brews in Surfers, and Tupe-Aloha in Kirra all serve up
Mondayitis busting $1 wings. At only $1 you can feast on
as many as you please, so order a whole bunch of them,
smother them in sauce and get messy!
TUESDAY // Tacos, tacos, tacos! Who doesn’t love a good
taco! And luckily for you taco Tuesday is a thing on the Gold
F E AT U R E

5pm choose from a mouth-watering selection of tacos stuffed
full of delicious fillings for just $5! Go with a group of friends,

fun Tuesday night that won’t break the bank.
Or try the amazing $20 ALL YOU CAN EAT vegan pizza deal
at Mandela’s Organic Café in Mermaid Beach! Or if you’re
out Robina ways, visit Dumpling Republic where you can stuff
yourself to the brim with their $1 dumpling deal.
WEDNESDAY // It’s hump day but it’s okay, we’ve got a
trick to brighten your Wednesday! Well, okay, not a trick
exactly but we have pizza! And not just any old pizza – One
50 Public House’s mouth watering, pizzas of deliciousness
which from 5pm on Wednesday (aka your new favourite day
of the week) are half-price! Add on some of their 50c chicken
wings that are on offer too and you’ve got a feast! Hump day
can come everyday if we get to eat like this!
THURSDAY // It’s Thursday and you COULD stay at home,
but before you make the drastic decision to stay in and eat
toast, sit down and let me tell you about Bine Bar & Dining in
Nobby’s Beach, and their awesome Thursday deal.
For just $15 you can sink your teeth into one of the Gold
Coast’s best parmis. Choose from chicken or veal and eat

anti-Monday, aka the best day of the working week! Friday
nights are for fun. They’re for socialising. They’re for getting
together with a big group of friends and celebrating that
the study week is over, and stretched out in front of you are
two glorious days with no classes. And what better place
to get together with a group of friends and celebrate the
gloriousness of all that then the Miami Marketta!

this place is a Friday night must! From spicy Mexican nachos,

you think you can’t possibly fit any more in, go and check out
the dessert room. Say sorry ‘bout it to your stomach and try
one of the amazing raw desserts, doughnuts, or crepes on
offer. Sweet tooth heaven!
with prices to suit the student budget. Saturday night sorted
my budget friendly friend!
SUNDAY // You made it! It’s the end of the week and you
haven’t had two minute noodles or toast for dinner yet. You
are the envy of all your friends. You are a true master of
navigating through the tricky minefield that is the student
budget. You are a cheap eats ninja!
Now it’s time for a lazy, relaxed Sunday night dinner before
the Monday blues hit and you realise that the weekend is
nearly over. Keep the outdoor theme going with fish’n’chips
at one of our favourite places on the Gold Coast: Burleigh
Point. Relax on the grass with a picnic blanket and a delicious
serve of fish’n’chips (just $11) from James Street favourite,
Fishmongers. James Street is also home to other amazing
