Developmental history
The first edition IGDIs-EL were first published by the University of
Minnesota in 1998 and made available through the Get it, Got it,
Go! website (ggg.umn.edu). These, the second edition, were also
developed at the University of Minnesota and published in 2013.
Special features
The IGDIs-EL items were selected based on concepts present in
regular/typical classroom settings and assess skills known to be
predictive of learning problems.
Sample items are used to give children the opportunity to
understand the requirements of each task before test administration.
Sensitivity to other cultures
Last revised: January 11, 2013
To the greatest extent possible, items were chosen to represent
objects or items present in a typical preschooler’s environment or
experiences. Although items were not specifically designed under a
framework of avoiding cultural bias, the diversity of the items
sampled within the timed administration period provides control for
any cultural bias that may be experienced by an individual children
or group of children.
