The following Prayer Prompter was emailed by Pastor Matt this week: — Carroll Pleasance died Easter Sunday afternoon. Please join me in offering thanksgiving for a life that brought much glory to God and Carroll's passionate witness of the redemptive power of Christ's sacrifice on the cross. Please also pray for Carroll's son, Randy, as he grieves and plans the affairs of celebrating his dad's life while saying goodbye for now. Pray that many will encourage Randy and walk with him through this time of mourning. A memorial service will be held for Carroll at 2:30pm on Monday May 1 at FRC. — John White's mom, Mildred, fell and broke her leg and is in extreme pain. Please pray for healing for Mildred and an easing of the pain. Pray for patience for her and for John and Carol as they care for her. PRAYER REQUESTS/UPDATES: Consistory Board recommendations will be received for the positions of Elder and Deacon through Sun, Apr 30. Recommendation forms can be found in the Sunday bulletins and in the lobby. Please pray about these important positions for FRC. — Kathy Nye has moved recently from Seattle to Careage in Coupeville and will be there until she is able to do more on her own. Visits and cards are still welcome: 311 3rd St NE, Coupeville, WA 98239 — John Koetje has recently returned from Latvia. He requests prayers for his daughter-in-law’s mother, who had surgery recently, but with complications. Also, John shares with us that his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Kat will be transitioning from the mission field to Snoqualmie, WA in June. FRC Women! Precious Memories, two subtle yet beautiful words that Precious Memories, two subtle yet beautiful words that bring warm, familial memories to mind. One may envision the treasured image of a stunning bride dressed in her grandma’s wedding dress walking down the aisle to her happily ever after. A beloved memory can be as simple as a quilt crafted by three generations or a Bible full of the wisdom passed down through generations. These narratives bottled up in our minds are eager to be let out for future generations to glean tidbits of wisdom and unique stories full of hope, sorrow, and laughter. bring warm, familial memories to mind. This art of storytelling is precisely the aim of the Women’s Precious Memories Tea on Saturday, May 20th. It will be a chance for each woman and young lady to dig out their treasured family heirlooms, write a narrative about those treasures, and proudly display their heritage for others to see. From a simple family recipe on a card, to a priceless antique, to a treasured picture of a loved one — we each have a story worth sharing.
