run as a group lesson to teach and assess collaboration.

ASSESSMENT

Students create group products of an Excel spreadsheet, graphs and pie charts for a
formative assessment. Individually they create a Presentation or product to show their
learning as a summative assessment. Students reflect on a Discussion Board.

This game is used for guided/independent practice. Here are the steps to implement the
lesson:
1. Partner 1 will access the lemonade stand game. Partner 2 will open the Excel sheet
for recording (if you are using an Android tablet, please open with Docs to Go). Both
the link and the document are listed below this text. If you are using a tablet device
that does not have Java enabled, you can access the Lemonade Game app (Wayne
Township students, this can be found in the Wayne App Market). 2. Play for the full 30 days, filling out the data sheet with the appropriate information for
each day. 3. Using the following Create a Graph website, you will work with your partner to create
graphs of the following information based on the data you collected: Bar Graph: Average cost per cup to average selling price per cup. Pie Chart: Total Rainy Days
to Total Sunny Days.
4. Select 2 of the following graphs to create: Line Graph: Daily cup purchases to Daily
Cup Prices. Bar Graph: Lemon Purchases to Sugar Purchases. Line Graph: Daily
temperature. Line or Bar Graph: Daily profit
5. Using Powerpoint, Docs to Go, or Prezi, create a presentation of your business for
your class to view. It should have at least 7 slides. Include the following information:
Title slide, Each graph on a separate slide (4), Information on profit (money earned,
money spent, profit, losses, etc.), Summary slide
6. Finally, you are going to access the Discussion Board post linked below. In your
comment, include the following information: Attach your presentation. Answer the
following questions: Was your business successful? Why or why not?How could you
have improved your strategy for running a successful lemonade stand?
