Sometimes, though, you might find yourself with nothing to do. Lucky for you, there’s a lot to do in Pittsburgh! You probably want to try the PPG Ice Skating Rink that also has the 60-foot tall tree right in the middle of it. If you aren’t the active type, you can try “Christmas in the City” which international singer and showman Mark Milovats, will bring to the Byham Theater. Kentwood’s showing off its Holiday Lights program which will present its 90-foot Christmas tree and a lot more! Stop by to see the Spirits of Giving from Around the World - a display of lifesize Santas and original paintings depicting holiday celebrations from around the world. You’ll be sure to have a lot of fun this Christmas! Editorial By: Editors Welcome back from your break! We hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. There are many Christmas programs in December. On December 9th, is the Band Concert and on December 13th, the Children’s Cantor Choir has their annual Christmas Pageant. December 16th is our school’s Christmas Program in which everyone participates. Try your best to come and experience all of our Christmas shows. Make sure you go to church on Christmas and have a very Merry Christmas from the Newspaper Staff! Movie Reviews By: Delanie Heller, Alexis Amore, and Justin North 7th and 8th Grade Elf This movie is about Buddy the Elf, who had the trip of a lifetime, literally! On a magical Christmas night when buddy was a baby, he accidently crawled into Santa’s toy bag. He grew up as an extremely large elf and he worked in Santa’s workshop. When Buddy became an adult, he realized that he did not belong in the North Pole, and even worse, he wasn’t an elf. He wanted to know who he truly was, so Buddy went on an intriguing quest to find who his real father is. He then discovers Walter Hobbs, who after a DNA test, turns out to be his father. This story is a hilarious classic that is sure to be a family favorite and a great Christmas tradition! 6th grade and below The Santa Clause A man named Scott spends time with his son Charlie on Christmas Eve. Scott accidentally makes a guy in a Santa suit fall off his roof into a big pile of snow. Then the man in the Santa suit suddenly disappears! So Charlie climbs up a ladder to their roof and finds Santa’s sleigh. Charlie and Scott climb into the sleigh and magically end up in the North Pole If you want to see what happens to Charlie and Scott, then you have to watch The Santa Clause to find out. It is also the beginning of the liturgical year. Advent is a time to be joyous for the Lord’s birth, but it is also a time of penance. The soccer, volleyball, and cross country teams have all had very successful seasons. The varsity soccer team had a great and very entertaining season. They made it all the way to the Diocesan championship, but came up short after over-time and two shoot outs. The annual tipoff tournament took place in November and all of the school’s basketball teams played in the tournament. The JV and Varsity cheerleading squads have both been practicing and are ready to cheer on and support all of the teams this year. Our Varsity Boys Basketball Team has been doing very well so far. Recently, we have won two tournaments in a row. Our players are pumped to play and win more tournaments in December. We would really appreciate if you come and support our team!
