ABSENCES AND APPOINTMENTS
Just a reminder, when your child is ill or not
attending school you need to call the Sunnyside
Office at 753-5244 to let us know why your child is
not going to be at school. If we do not receive a
phone call or a note explaining why your child is
not in attendance you may be receiving a phone
call as to the whereabouts of your child.
VISITING SUNNYSIDE SCHOOL
Whenever you visit our school,use the entra
please be sure to stop in the office and get a
visitor’s pass before going to any classroom. If
you plan to come to school and eat with your
child, please call the school office by 9:00 a.m.
if you are eating school lunch so that you will
be included in the lunch count.
PARKING LOT REMINDER
In order to make our parking lot a safe place for everyone,
please follow these guidelines:
1) Students will be allowed to board cars that are stopped in the
right hand lane only.
2) When your child is safely loaded in the car,
please carefully pull into the center lane to
exit the parking lot.
3) Please be on the lookout for traffic
movement and as spaces become
available, pull ahead.
4) The center lane is for moving traffic only.
5) If you desire to load in a parking space please exit your car,
locate your child, and escort them back to your vehicle.
6) And please, only park in marked parking stalls. This avoids the
problems with bus lanes, the neighbor’s garage, and other
parents from being blocked in.

NO EARLY ARRIVALS, PLEASE.

Wendy’s Night
The first Wednesday of the month
is Wendy’s Night. Come out and
support Sunnyside by eating at
Wendy’s between the hours of 5
pm and 7 pm. 10% of all sales
between those hours go to our
school!
Please DO NOT bring your students to
school early and PLEASE DON’T let them
leave home too early. Students will not be
allowed in the building until 8:00 am if they
are eating breakfast and 8:30 am if they
are not eating breakfast. There is no adult
supervision for the students to line up until 8:15 am. Please
help us give the students a good start to their day by
following this schedule. Your cooperation is greatly
appreciated.
STUDENT PLANS AT END OF THE DAY
If a student has alternate plans for going home
or has a change of plans at the end of the
day, please notify the office or teacher of
these plans either by phone call or a note by
2:30 pm . We cannot take direction from a student on what
they are to do at the end of the day. This information must
be verified by a parent or guardian. If we do not receive a
phone call or a note from the parent regarding change in
plans, we will send the student home as usual.
UPCOMING PTO EVENTS:
Mazzio’s Night
The third Thursday of the month is
Mazzio’s night. This is another
great way to support Sunnyside.
If you eat at Mazzios between the
hours of 4pm and 8pm 10% of
sales between those hours goes to
our school!
PEPSI COMMUNITY CAPS
Beginning February 1st and continuing
through April 30th Sunnyside PTO will be
collecting the yellow caps that will be
on Pepsi products. This is a great way
to help our school! Pepsi will donate 5
cents to our PTO for every cap
collected! The caps cam be brought to
school and dropped in the collection
container in front of the office.
The next Sunnyside book fair will be April 10th-9th
Please be on the look out for more information
to come home with your student. This will be a
be a buy one, get one free book fair!
There will also be a magazine fundraiser being put on by the
PTO in April. The students will have an assembly on April 2nd
and will be bringing home packets with the information that
evening.
These are both excellent ways to support the
Sunnyside PTO. Their next meeting is scheduled
for Thursday, April 11, 2013 @6pm in the library.
