The Results of Meditating on God’s Word!

Joshua 1:8 This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but
thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way
prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.

James 1:25 But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that
gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has
heard, but doing it-- he will be blessed in what he does.

Psalm 1:2 But they delight in doing everything the LORD wants; day
and night they think about his law.
NIV Psalm 1:3 He is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields
its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither. Whatever he does
prospers.

We have seen in scripture that meditating on The Word of God produces
prosperity and success!

• So we must conclude that God wants His people to prosper and
be successful!
1 Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you
lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him….!
!
God prospers us! God enables us to advance, increase and be blessed!
!
What does God mean when He says He will prosper us and cause us
to succeed!
!
God told Israel how He would prosper them in NIV Deuteronomy 28:11
The LORD will grant you abundant prosperity-- in the fruit of your
womb, the young of your livestock and the crops of your ground-- in the
land he swore to your forefathers to give you.
!
All their children would be healthy and strong. They would have all the
livestock and crops they needed to provide for their family and build the
kingdom.
!
!
• Prosperity and success go hand in hand to prosper means to
thrive, increase and advance! While success is obtaining
favorable results in business that causes wealth!
When we meditate on God’s Word God enables us to push forward,
advance and become successful in what He created us to do!
!
Here are some definitions that will help you understand success!
!
When something moves when you push it you may say it yields!
Hence the English word cede & the Latin word cess—mean to move!
!

➢To move back of course means to recede!
➢To move apart is to secede!
➢To move between is to intercede!
➢To move along with another’s will is to concede!
➢To move under someone is to succeed!
Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it
shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I
please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

➢God gives us His Word and as we submit to it we come under
His power and authority and succeed in life! So it is God’s will
that His people prosper!
Get that in your heart and mind and never let it go—God’s wants you to
prosper!
!
So He gives us His Word so we won’t fail in life!
!
• God doesn’t want me to start a family and it fails!
!

! God doesn’t want me to start a business and it fails!
•
! God doesn’t want me to start a ministry and it fails!

If God spoke it then it will not fail but succeed! If a Christian family,
business or ministry is failing it must go back and find out what The
Word says do it and it will succeed—because God’s Word will prosper
where it is sent and accomplish its purpose!

Deuteronomy 29:9 Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and do
them, that ye may prosper in all that ye do.
!
Again God told His people to do what He has written so they can
prosper in all that they do!
!
The key is meditating on The Word is so we can do it—not just
memorize it so you can impress people!
!
We want to do the will of The Lord, don’t we?
!
You see because there are consequences for knowing and not doing The
Word!
!
• I must tell you it’s dangerous to meditate on The Word and then
not do what it says!
!
People who know the Word and don’t do it are called transgressors!

2 Chronicles 24:20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the
son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto
them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the
LORD, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he
hath also forsaken you.

Transgress means “to go beyond” and “to pass cross the boundary”!
!
In order to transgress the person must know what God says the
boundaries are and cross them anyway!
!
God says people who do this will not prosper!
!
Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso
confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.
!
People who try and hide their sins after looking into the perfect Law of
Liberty as James says will not prosper—advance to accomplish what
God created them for!
!
After God delivered Israel from Egypt they did not prosper—advance to
the Promised Land and fulfill their destiny but died in the wilderness
because they wouldn’t do The Word!
!
God was with them all the time in the wilderness! His presence was
there—He gave them water, meat and manna! Miracle and after miracle
but they did not advance (prosper or succeed) because they transgressed.
!
!
• Did you know you can have the presence of God in your life and
still live in poverty, lack and frustration!
Or you can have the presence of God in your life and have prosperity
and success! (Heb 13:5)
!
Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against
you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing:
therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
