Choose the adapter that fits your faucet threading and set aside for Step 2. 2 Remove rotary ring from the main unit and set aside. Insert corresponding washer into adapter chosen in Step 1. Slide adapter through rotary ring. Attach to faucet and tighten with coin or similar object. 2a 2b 2c 2d 4 3 Set the main unit in place by turning the rotary ring clockwise. Do not over tighten. 4 Attach filter cartridge to main unit by sliding intoplace until it clicks. Attaching Filter Cartridge Ensure faucet is completely turned off before attaching or removing filter cartridge. Write date of first usage on sticker provided and adhere sticker to filter cartridge to serve as a reminder of replacement. Attach / replace new filter cartridge in a clean space. Align the attaching mark of filter cartridge with the front of body and slide it to back until it clicks. Slide side opening of filter into main unit until it clicks. Correct position Incorrect (Top view) 5. Using Verbatim Water Filtration System for the first time Set filter to spray mode and turn on faucet slowly to inspect for leaks. Shift the diverter lever into the spray mode position and turn tap on very slowly. Check for leaks and any other signs of improper operation. Shift diverter lever to filtered water mode and run filtered water for at least 1 minute. Check for leaks. Bubbles may be present in filtered water when Verbatim Water Filtration System is used the first time. This is not a defect, it is a result of air in the filter cartridge. 5 CB073E- Faucet Mount System with Digital Filter Indicator This unit includes a display that counts down the time to replace the filter cartridge. After installing faucet mount system for the first time, press and hold the RESET button until the display lights all bars (approximately 1 second). After replacing the filter cartridge, press and hold the RESET button until the display lights one bar (approximately 3 seconds). Replacing the filter cartridge Pull forward to detach filter cartridge. Dispose of used filter cartridge in accordance with local waste regulations. Insert new filter cartridge. Slide filter cartridge back until it clicks. Lifespan of filter cartridge may vary based on the amount of water used, water quality, water pressure, etc. In general, replace your filter cartridge under the following circumstances: -When the odor or taste of chlorine is detected -When the flow rate/volume has substantially lessened – e.g. it takes 15 seconds or longer to fill a cup 7. Maintenance Rinse the unit with water and use a soft cloth to clean it. Do not use harsh detergents. After cleaning, set the filter to tap water spray mode and allow to run for a few moments. Rubber seal within unit may wear over time, replace as needed. CB073E – Clean LCD display by wiping display with clean, dry cloth. 6 8. Battery Disposal (CB073E) The battery for the LCD display has an approximate lifespan of 5 years. At the end of its life, it needs to be properly disposed of. The battery is sealed within the unit. Please dispose of the entire unit in accordance with local regulations for battery disposal. Important Information Please adhere to the following instructions. Failure to do so may result in damage to the product. • Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Using Filtered Water • For best tasting water, consume filtered water as soon as possible. Filtered water may be stored in the refrigerator for up to 48 hours. • Run your faucet with the diverter lever in the FILTERED WATER position for at least 10 seconds each day before using your Verbatim Water Filtration System. • When the Verbatim Water Filtration System has not been used for 2 or more days, run the faucet with the diverter lever in the FILTERED WATER position for at least 1 minute. Best Practices to prevent leaking, damages, etc. • Never use main unit without filter in place. • Turn the tap on/off slowly. • In areas with very high water pressure, lower tap water flow speed recommended. • Do not run water with a temperature of 140° F (60° C) or higher through the straight tap water or spray tap water mode. • Do not obstruct the filtered water outlet or attach other equipment to it. • Do not submerge Verbatim Water Filtration System in water during maintenance. 7 10. Troubleshooting Problem Potential Causes Solution Water leakage at attachment accessory The accessory is incorrectly attached to the faucet. See (4. Installation) and re-install the accessory. The tip of the faucet is damaged. The faucet needs to be repaired or replaced. The rubber seal is damaged. Replace the rubber seal. Low water volume/slow flow from filtration unit- both filtered and unfiltered water The screen is clogged. (Check for stains/debris) Rinse the unit with water and use a clean, soft brush to clean it. Do not use detergent. Set the diverter lever to tap water spray and run water for several minutes after cleaning. Water flow from filtration unit is uneven The screen is clogged. (Check for stains/debris) Rinse the unit with water and use a clean, soft brush to clean it. Do not use detergent. Set the diverter lever to tap water spray and run water for several minutes after cleaning. Low filtered water volume The hollow fiber membrane is clogged. Replace the filter cartridge. Refer to (6. Replacing the filter cartridge) for instructions. The water pressure is low. This is not a defect. The filter cartridge is improperly installed. Ensure that the filter cartridge is in the correct position. (4. Installation) The filter cartridge needs to be replaced. Replace the filter cartridge. Refer to (6. Replacing the filter cartridge) for instructions. This is not a defect. Denotes presence of air in unit. Allow water to run, air bubbles will dissipate over time. Limited Warranty Terms – Water Filtration Products The Verbatim Americas LLC separate and individual warranty obligations for its Water Filtration Hardware and its Water Filter Cartridge products are limited to the terms set forth below. “Water Filtration Hardware” is defined as any Verbatim water filter products excluding its replaceable water filter cartridge component. “Water Filter Cartridge” is defined as the replaceable water filter cartridge that is included with Water Filtration Hardware. Together or separately, they are also referred to as the "Products”. Verbatim warrants its Water Filtration Hardware to be free of defects in material and workmanship under normal use and service for a period of two (2) years from the date of purchase. Verbatim warrants its Water Filter Cartridge to be free of defects in material and workmanship for a period of thirty (30) days when used according to Verbatim’s instructions. Verbatim’s sole obligation with respect to claims of non-conformance made within the warranty periods described above shall be, at its option, to repair or replace any of the Products that Verbatim, in its sole discretion, determines to be defective, subject to the procedure set forth below. Verbatim’s warranty obligations hereunder are expressly conditioned upon (i.) the Products being properly installed, used and maintained at all times by Customer; (ii.) the Products not being subject to unusual mechanical stress or unusual plumbing or environmental conditions or acts of God; (iii.) the Products not being subjected to misuse, accident or any unauthorized installation/deinstallation by Customer or other third party; (iv.) the Products not being altered or modified in an unauthorized manner, unless approved in writing or otherwise performed by Verbatim and (v.) Customer promptly installing all Product revisions that have been released for such Products by Verbatim throughout the warranty term. Verbatim does not warrant that the Products will operate in any specific combination that may be selected for use by Customer or that the operation of the Products will be uninterrupted or error free, or that all non-compliance or defects will be remedied. Additionally, Verbatim shall have no warranty obligations for any failure of the Products to conform to the applicable product specifications resulting from the combination of any Products with products not supplied by Verbatim. If it is determined that any Products reported as defective or non-conforming by Customer during the warranty period is not defective or non-conforming, Verbatim may, at its option, charge Customer for any labor provided and expenses incurred by Verbatim in connection with such determination, at Verbatim’s then current rates. Verbatim is not liable for labor charges, installation, or other incidental or consequential costs. In no event shall the liability of Verbatim exceed the purchase price of the Products. Verbatim shall not be responsible for unauthorized sale or misrepresentation by unauthorized third party resellers. Verbatim warranties are not transferable with ownership. Products purchased by auction, yard sale, flea market or purchased as demo units may not be covered under Verbatim’s warranties. THE WARRANTIES OF VERBATIM AND REMEDIES OF CUSTOMER SET FORTH IN THIS SECTION ARE EXCLUSIVE AND ARE GIVEN BY VERBATIM AND ACCEPTED BY CUSTOMER IN LIEU OF ANY AND ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ALL WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ALL SUCH OTHER WARRANTIES BEING HEREBY EXPRESSLY AND UNEQUIVOCALLY DISCLAIMED BY VERBATIM AND WAIVED BY CUSTOMER TO THE EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW (AND TO THE EXTENT NOT WAIVABLE BY LAW, ARE LIMITED TO THE TERM OF THE EXPRESS WARRANTY SET FORTH HEREIN). VERBATIM IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES RESULTING FROM ANY BREACH OF WARRANTY OR CONDITION. VERBATIM SPECIFICALLY DOES NOT REPRESENT THAT IT WILL BE ABLE TO REPAIR ANY PRODUCT UNDER THIS LIMITED WARRANTY. Return Procedure – US & Canada: The Customer shall obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number from Verbatim prior to returning any Products to Verbatim under this warranty by contacting Technical Support (see www.verbatim.com/support). The Customer shall prepay shipping charges for Products returned to Verbatim for warranty service, and Verbatim shall pay freight charges for the return of the Products to the Customer, excluding Customs duties or taxes, if any. All returns require a dated original proof of purchase and a letter explaining the problem. Verbatim will not be responsible for items returned without an RMA or improperly packaged. Replacement Products shall be new or like new in performance and shall be warranted for the remaining duration of the warranty term of the non-conforming Products. All replaced Products shall become the property of Verbatim. Any claims of defects not made within the warranty period shall be deemed waived by Customer. Return Procedure – All Other Countries: Visit www.verbatim.com/support, where you will be directed to a local sales representative who will assist you with the return. The Customer shall prepay shipping charges for Products returned to Verbatim for warranty service, and Verbatim shall pay freight charges for the return of the Products to the Customer, excluding Customs duties or taxes, if any. Requesting Repairs When repairs are required during the validity period of the warranty, take the product and the warranty card to your dealer. Seek your dealer’s advice if repairs are required after warranty lapse. There will be a repair service fee. Parts for Verbatim water filtration system (including filter cartridge) will be kept in stock and made available for a minimum of 5 years after the product has been discontinued. 10 13. Filter life should not exceed 900 liters (237.75 gallons). If filtering time is notably increased, replace the filter earlier. This system has been tested according to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 standards by NSF International for reduction of the substances listed above. The concentration of the indicated substances in water entering the system was reduces to a concentration less than or equal to the permissible limit for water leaving the system, as specified in NSF/ANSI 42 and 53. The system conforms to NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 for specific performance claims as verified and substantiated by test data. While testing was performed under standard laboratory conditions, actual performance may vary. The use of this system shall comply with applicable state and local laws.
