PLG 2217 Unspecified Texts, Prose Composition and Grammar
Course Content
This paper will concise of three parts:
Part 1 will contain extracts from unspecified Pali texts, more or less of the same standard as the
prescribed texts, for translation in to Sinhala/English. Credit will not be given to mechanical translation
which does not bring out the meaning of the original.
Part 2 will contain sentences or continuous prose in Sinhala/English for translation into Pali. In this
exercise disregard for the elementary rules of grammar should be avoided.
Part 3 will consist of questions on the outlines of Pali grammar.
