Welcome Home Iraq Veterans
Parade and Job and Resource Fair

WHAT:
A PARADE through downtown Austin for the community to express thanks to
those who served in Iraq and to commemorate the end of the war.
A JOB AND RESOURCE FAIR for ALL veterans with dozens of Central Texas
employers looking to hire veterans and veterans service providers from federal and
state agencies and non-profit groups. All in one place.
WHERE: The parade runs up Congress Ave. to the Capitol, where there will be a brief
ceremony and then the job and resource fair is inside the Capitol Extension.
WHEN:
Parade is at 9AM. Ceremony is at 11AM. Job and Resource Fair runs 11AM-4PM
WHO:
This event is organized by Austin-area volunteers and is cosponsored by the City
of Austin and Travis County with help from area businesses and citizens.
WE WANT YOU TO ATTEND THE JOB AND RESOURCE FAIR
A resume and your discharge papers would be good, but the most important thing is to just
come down. Employers are looking for all levels of experience and education.
IT’S NOT REQUIRED, BUT WE’D LIKE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE PARADE
Lots of Austin businesses, civic groups, volunteers and spectators are coming out to see the
parade to express thanks, so it’d be nice if as many veterans as possible turned out. Sign up as a
group or as an individual and we’ll handle the rest.
