REVERSE RAFFLE RULES
1. Maximum number of tickets to be sold: 150.
2. Cost per ticket is $100. Each one (1) raffle ticket provides one (1) entry into the grand
prize raffle and catered dinner for two (2) people.
3. Grand prize is $5,000.
4. Tickets will be on sale from 5:30p.m. August 23, 2016 to 6:30p.m. October 21, 2016
(unless all 150 tickets are sold before the end date).
5. A ticket is considered purchased when it and payment are recorded by a Forsyth-Monroe
County Chamber of Commerce staff or board member.
6. Must be 21 years or older to purchase a Reverse Raffle ticket and participate/attend the
event.
7. Need not be present to win grand prize.
8. Must be present to win any prizes from the interval drawings or special side raffles.
9. All tickets will be drawn from the tumble basket. The last ticket drawn will be declared
the winner of the grand prize of $5,000.
10. Interval drawings will be held throughout the evening. Interval drawings will be awarded
to the 1st, 25th, 50th, 75th, 100th, and 125th tickets drawn. If the Forsyth-Monroe County
Chamber of Commerce receives more interval drawing prizes than number of tickets
listed here, those additional prizes will be drawn at random at the decision of the program
coordinator.
11. When ten (10) tickets are left in the tumbler, those ten (10) ticket holders will be asked to
come forward and will have the option to auction off their ticket to anyone at the event.
The ticket holder must establish the initial offering price. Each of the last ten (10) ticket
holders have one chance to auction off their raffle ticket at any time during the last ten
(10) pulls of the reverse raffle.
12. When the last five (5) ticket holders remain, they will be given the opportunity to choose
between splitting the $5,000 grand prize at $1,000 a piece or to continue to the raffle. The
choice to split the grand prize must be unanimous. If any of the last five (5) ticket holders
disagrees with splitting the grand prize, the raffle will continue.
13. The final ticket holders can choose to split the grand prize at any point after only five (5)
tickets remain, splitting the grand prize evenly.
14. Should one of the last five (5) ticket holders not be present, the raffle will continue until
there is only one winner of the grand prize.
15. Businesses, companies, and non-profit organizations may purchase a ticket or several
people can share the cost of a ticket. One person must be named as the ticket holder. The
ticket holder’s name will appear on the ticket stub recorded by a Forsyth-Monroe County
Chamber of Commerce staff or board member. The ticket holder will be responsible for
sharing any awarded prizes with those who shared the ticket with named ticket holder.
The Forsyth-Monroe County Chamber of Commerce will not be held responsible for
dividing any prize between those sharing the cost of one ticket.
16. Anyone sharing the cost of the ticket should note that each one (1) ticket provides one (1)
entry into the raffle and catered dinner for two (2) people, no matter the number of people
sharing the cost of the ticket, i.e. a ticket may be split by five (5) people, however only
two (2) people will be provided with a catered meal for that one (1) ticket.
17. Should one of the final ten (10) tickets be a shared cost ticket, the decision to auction off
said ticket will be left to the discretion of the named ticket holder. Ticket holder has the
responsibility of dividing the money awarded from any auction sale amongst its shared
contributors.
18. Should one of the final five (5) tickets be a shared cost ticket, the decision to split the
grand prize will be left to the discretion of the named ticket holder. Ticket holder has the
responsibility of dividing any money awarded from the total or split grand prize amongst
its shared contributors.
19. Winners are solely responsible for any and all taxes due on awards.
20. In the event of a dispute or controversy, Cheri W. Sparks, CEO of the Forsyth-Monroe
County Chamber of Commerce, will rule.
