Big Brothers Big Sisters of Warren & Clinton Counties Position Description SCHOOL-BASED MATCH SUPPORT SPECIALIST (part-time, 15-30 hours per week) Position Summary Essential to the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters, this position is responsible for the volunteer and child enrollment and matching process, and for the support of their matches. These functions will be conducted with a high-level of customer service, focusing on child safety, volunteer options, and quality, while executing a high degree of independent judgment when utilizing BBBS standards and practices. The successful Match Support Specialist will produce positive outcomes in the following areas: volunteer and youth yield and processing time, match retention and contact rates, average match length, volunteer rematch, customer satisfaction, and volunteer inquiries. Job Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field from an accredited school. Experience in casework practices and principles preferred. Assessment and relationship development experience with child and adult populations. Understanding of child development and family dynamics; understanding of community organization, community socio/economic issues, and resources. Must have a reliable car, valid driver’s license, and meet state required automobile insurance minimums. Must be able to pass a criminal background check. Required Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and problem solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook). Ability to use time effectively and to focus on details. Demonstrated administrative, organizational, and leadership abilities. Ability to relate to multicultural environments. Emotional maturity, good judgment, integrity, flexibility, dependability, and resourcefulness. Willingness to work in the office and at program sites. Ability to work flexible schedule. Must be able to perform physical duties, such as carrying or lifting objects up to 25 lbs. and setting up facilities, etc. Position Responsibilities Ensure high-level proficiency in applying child safety and risk management knowledge, policies and procedures throughout all aspects of job functions. Identify child safety issues for volunteers, children, and their families. Conduct volunteer enrollments, including individual orientations, interviews, child safety education, assessments, and completion of all other enrollment processes. Conduct client enrollments including parent/child interviews, child safety education, assessments, and other enrollment processes. Assess and refer families for alternative or additional services as needed. Conduct in-person match meetings between Bigs and Littles. Supervise programs on site at designated schools. Maintain supervisory schedule of program sites according to program policy and National Standards. Provide support to matches and document all contacts with match parties in a timely manner. Maintain educational activities and supplies in designated schools. Develop and maintain positive relationship with school personnel. Prepare reports as requested. Coordinate acquisition of school performance measures (GPA, absences, Outcomes, Evaluations, Surveys, Questionnaires. Support agency fund raising and recruitment efforts.
