Duckweed
Duckweed is small flowering, free floating plants that

colonies not attached to the bottom. Duckweed floats
wherever the wind or current takes it. Duckweed can
have one to three leaves the size of a pencil eraser with
a single root hair.

Our Recommendations are as follows:
Our Recommendations are as follows:
1.
Divide Application into 2 treatments, about 10-14
days apart.
1.
Use 1 gallon per 1 surface acre of water 4-6 feet deep.
2.
2.
Mix Fluridone with water and apply to pond.
Fluridone will disperse throughout the pond.
Pour dye in several locations around perimeter of the
pond to help disperse evenly.
3.
Re-apply at 30 day intervals to maintain appearance.

Vary rate to achieve desired blue tint

Sapphire Bay® will filter the essential light rays that
plants and algae need in order to grow
For small ponds, your application can be made from the
bank or middle of pond. If you have no access to a
sprayer, simply dilute the Fluridone in a large container
with clean water, empty directly into the pond.
Filamentous algae (FA) may be stringy-like and physically
able to be held in your hand for examination. FA can form
mats of pond scum floating on the surface, resembling
steel wool.
Planktonic Algae
Planktonic algae (often described as pea soup) can’t be
held in your hands for identification and may only be
identified under a microscope. Phytoplankton is small
free floating microscopic algae that drift about in bodies
of water.
