PARISH PASTORAL INSTITUTE
OPEN NIGHT…
TOWN MEETING WITH
MSGR. PABLO NAVARRO
Tuesday, January 10
7:29 p.m. AE-102-103
In this new year, please take some time to reflect on the
many blessings the Lord has given us in our lives. All
we have is a gift from God, so we must be willing to
give up some things so that we can share our blessings
as God intended.
Pope Francis says, “Charity is born of the call of a God
who continues to knock on our doors, the door of all
people, to invite us to love, to compassion, to service of
one another… Jesus keeps knocking on our doors, the
doors of our lives. He doesn’t do this by magic, with
special effects, with flashing lights and fireworks.
Jesus keeps knocking on our door in the faces of our
brothers and sisters, in the faces of our neighbors, in the
faces of those at our side.”
Monsignor Navarro will make a brief presentation and
open the rest of the evening to any and every question
that may be haunting you regarding theology, Sacred
Scriptures, Church Tradition, liturgical practice pastoral
practice… or anything that you were always interested
in or puzzled by. Join us for a good symposium.

The Lord sends us forth to be the witnesses of His new
life and hope.
The 2017 Archbishop’s Charity and Development
Drive, the ABCD, will be held on the weekend of
January 28st-29nd. This is our opportunity to unite
together as one Catholic family, to answer the Jesus’
call to help our brothers and sisters in need. In these
next three weeks, please take the time to prayerfully
reflect on the gifts that you have been given by
God and respond to the ABCD as generously as
you possibly can. Your participation is essential to
continue to build the Kingdom of God here in South
Florida.

PASTOR’S REFLECTION
Epiphany of the Lord
January 8, 2017
Monsignor Bryan O. Walsh Council #13369 is hosting
Dear Friends,
Today’s Feast offers the essential insight that we cannot
limit God’s love. That insight is challenging when someone
I judge unworthy shows me how to live my faith, or when
someone of another faith tradition lives God’s love in ways
that I fail, like the Muslims who stood hand in hand around
the church in Ethiopia to protect their Christian sisters and
brothers. Epiphany comes in many forms. The Feast of the
Epiphany asks us to open our eyes to see God’s presence
where we might least expect.
*Where has the presence of God surprised you and stretched
your understanding?
Take time to refresh the life of the Spirit that has been given
you. Then witness your faith like disciples and believers
throughout the ages. Be assured of my prayers for you and
for your dear ones, particularly during this New Year. May
the good Lord bless you with wisdom and peace. Please
pray for me.
In Christ,
Msgr. Pablo A. Navarro

A BIG THANK YOU FROM
THE HOMELESS MINISTRY
ESSESNCE AND PERSONALITY
The Relationships Workshop
The Homeless Ministry would like to thank all the
parishioners, ministry members, and church personnel
who helped make our ministry’s Thanksgiving and
Christmas outings successful. Thank you for the
donations of food, clothing, spare change, time and effort.
With your kind contributions of turkey, rolls, mashed
potatoes, stuffing, pies, sodas, water, and snacks, we
were able to provide a Thanksgiving Dinner to over 350
of our less fortunate brothers and sisters at Miami Rescue
Mission Men Center, this including women and children.
Your generous donations of pants, socks and underwear
helped us provide 350 Christmas gift bags for the homeless. Thanks to the special angels for the donations of
over 300 cookies bags. They loved it.
You are invited to share with us a unique and special
experience. You may come alone or accompanied by
someone who has been special to you during life. (a
spouse, family member, dad, mom, etc. Each moment
of every day you are either moving away from or toward
the person God designed you to be. You are either maximizing your moments in life or allowing them to slip by
without notice.
In addition, your generous donations of Pennies from
Heaven allowed us to provide a Christmas dinner from
Harvey’s BBQ. The smiles on their faces and the laughter
in the room were so great as they walked out with their
stomachs full and their hearts on fire. They were thrilled
to receive bags of NEW clothes provided by your
generosity. We know that Jesus was in the room that day
to share our joy.
We would like to give a special thanks to the students,
teachers, and parents from St. John Neumann Catholic
School who helped organize and assemble the 300
Christmas bags that were distributed at the Christmas
dinner at Miami Rescue Mission.
Only through the thoughtfulness and generosity of
parishioners like you can our endeavors come to fruition.
God bless you and happy New Year to all of you!
“Your life is like a coin,” said writer Lillian Dickenson.
“You can spend it any way you like, but you can spend it
only once.”

NOTICIAS DEL APOSTOLADO HISPANO
REFLEXIÓN DEL PÁRROCO
LA EPIFANIA DEL SEÑOR
ENERO 8, 2017
Queridos Amigos,
empleado tu entendimiento?
Pasen unos minutos en oración de silencio. Pídanle a
Mons. Pablo A. Navarro

a nuestros hermanos y hermanas necesitados.
