YUKON’S NEXT GOLD MINE | TSX-V: VIT Potato Hills Press EDITION #9 – FALL 2013 WELCOME Message from the Executive Vice President Victoria is eager to begin construction of the Eagle Gold Mine and the company’s efforts this past season have been to continue to advance the project. We received the Quartz Mining Licence in September. The additional detailed design work done this season will facilitate a quick ramp up to start construction when project financing is secured. Victoria Achieves Major Milestone with Receipt of the Quartz Mining License for the Eagle Gold Project Victoria is pleased to announce the Eagle Gold Project has passed another major milestone on September 20th with the receipt of the Phase 1 Quartz Mining License (“QML”). The QML is one of the major licenses required to build and operate the Eagle Gold Mine. The receipt of the QML is the culmination of a 3 year permitting and environmental assessment process which included submission of a Project Proposal in December 2010 and receipt of positive Yukon Government and Federal Government Decision Document in April 2013. “We are highly encouraged by this major milestone as we work to advance the Eagle Gold Mine. With the granting of the QML, Eagle is now one of a few major gold projects in the world in a first class jurisdiction that is shovel ready, pending financing” said Victoria Gold Corp. President and CEO John McConnell. “Victoria is committed to the Yukon and we are very pleased to move forward and have the territorial government’s support.” The Quartz Mining Licence enables Victoria, pending project financing, to start construction and undertake major earthworks. Victoria is now working on acquiring the other licences required to construct and operate the mine. These include: The Company reassigned the executive roles earlier this year and I am pleased to be back in a hands on role with the Eagle Gold Project. My new responsibilities include overseeing the Eagle Gold Project through construction of the mine and into operations. It’s no secret that I love the Yukon having been involved with this project since 2007. My wife and I enjoyed our 3 week summer vacation this year camping throughout this great territory – from the BC border, to the Alaska border and north to Inuvik. I was also fortunate to enjoy a couple of hunting trips this year. A significant and remaining milestone is to secure project financing to build the mine. Victoria’s Board of Directors and Management continue discussions with a consortium of lending institutions. Our approach is to preserve and protect shareholder value. The fact is Victoria’s Eagle Gold deposit, located on the Dublin Gulch property, is a proven and shovel ready project located in a favourable mining jurisdiction with existing infrastructure, a signed Comprehensive Cooperation and Benefits Agreement with the First Nation of the Na-Cho Nyak Dun, an approved Environmental Assessment and a Quartz Mining Licence. This is an incredibly rare combination and Eagle is ready to begin construction when the market improves. I’m delighted to announce another member of Victoria’s next generation born in the Yukon – John McConnell, our President and CEO and Tara Christie welcomed their beautiful daughter Katie into the world on September 9th in Whitehorse. On a sad note however, we lost a very dear friend and colleague, John Goyman this summer. John was previously Vice President – Nevada, and was well respected in the north having lived and worked in Nunavut and the NWT for 30+ years – he is and will continue to be greatly missed. • The amendment of a Type B Water Licence – on track to be filed before the end of 2013 and the licence expected to be received in 2014. On behalf of everyone at Victoria, we thank the community for your enthusiastic participation in the community meetings and for your continued support of the Eagle Gold Project. • The submission for a Type A Water Licence – on track to be submitted to the Water Board early in 2014 and expected to be received for operations in 2015. Respectfully, Mark Ayranto, Executive Vice President |1 EDITION 9 – FALL 2013 Potato Hills Press YUKON’S NEXT GOLD MINE | TSX-V: VIT Victoria Awards NND CBA Scholarships to 6 NND Citizens The Victoria NND CBA Scholarships have been awarded to six recipients for the 2013 fall semester. July 1st was a sunny, warm day, perfect weather to hold Victoria’s annual Canada Day BBQ. Victoria representatives John McConnell, Ben and Sarah Lacasse, Helena Kuikka and Lenora Hobbis were on hand to flip burgers. Proceeds of the BBQ went in support of the Dunena Ko’honete Ko Day Care, Silver Trail Chamber of Commerce, and the Every Day Every Student Fund. Victoria was pleased to sponsor the Bannock Making Contest and film festival, originally scheduled to be held on Aboriginal Day. The lucky judges, Kelly Arychuk, Walter Peter, Marie Hummel and Nancy Hager, got to taste a wide variety of bannock. The highlight of the evening, along with the bannock tasting, was the presentation of two very humorous films on bannock making. Who knew that there were so many ways to make bannock! The results of the 2012 and 2013 soil sampling programs identified an anomalous zone that warranted further exploration. In October Victoria conducted a small diamond drill program to test the mineral potential of the soil anomaly. Exploration on the VBW claim block. This year’s Dublin Gulch exploration program started in late July with a mapping and prospecting program in the areas of Potato Hills East and Lynx Dome. Ground Truth Exploration conducted a Direct Current (DC) resistivity survey over the Eagle Gold Mine pit area in August. This survey is part of a Yukon wide study, funded by the Yukon Geological Survey, to test the effectiveness of this technology using known gold deposits as test cases. The results of the DC resistivity survey will be published early next year. The drill program included 5 drill holes for a total of 1000m and was supported by helicopter and no trails or roads were constructed. The drill crew and geologist were based out of the Eagle Gold camp for the duration of the drill program. Representatives from the NND Lands and Heritage and Culture Departments toured the drill sites on October 3rd. Victoria has an Access and Exploration Agreement with the NND for the VBW claims. The Agreement provides benefits to the NND such as an access payment, employment opportunities and future royalties. In addition to the exploration program on the Dublin Gulch claim block Victoria conducted a soil sampling program, in August, on the VBW property located within the NND Category B Settlement Lands.
