Shaving Cream Art (Thank you Pinterest)… This is an awesome bath time activity! I saw it on Pinterest when my daughter was in first grade. All you need is some men’s shaving cream (the white foamy kind), food coloring, a foil disposable 6 count muffin tin (which you can reuse), and a toddler paint brush. Ahead of this activity I put a small dab of the shaving cream on her wrist to test to make sure it wasn’t to strong for her skin– but she was fine. Take the tin, and put a few drops of one color of food coloring in each cup in the tin. You can mix two colors if you want (like red and blue to make purple). Then fill each cup with the white foamy shaving cream. At this point you can hand the tin and the brush to the kiddo in the tub (they can use the brush handle to stir and mix the food coloring with the shaving cream. It will start to change color and is pretty cool). Then they can use the brush and start “painting” on the wall of the tub. You might want to do a practice test run of this yourself to make sure it doesn’t stain the tub or tile wall– if so you may be using to many drops of food coloring. This was one of my daughters favorite things to do. It became a bit of a drawing journal for her with the picture she painted usually reflected what ever was occupying her thoughts. Sometimes they were about school, sometimes it was about what she wanted to be when she grew up (the picture included is my favorite one she did– her growing up to be a scientist; complete with white lab coat, safety goggles, and a bubbling beaker in her hand). She drew about her dad when he was on his deployment… The best one was him in a cammo uniform saluting the flag. It was like being able to take a peak into what was going on in her little head. Enjoy and have fun! ~A Northside ISD Military Wife
