--Tours begins from Hampton History Museum each Saturday at 10:00 a.m.-Hampton, VA- From Native Americans, a British Settlement, and the American
Revolution, to Civil War, Emancipation, Reconstruction, Civil Rights, and the Race to
The Moon, Hampton has seen it all and has played key roles in critical chapters in the
story of the United States! Now visitors and residents alike can experience pivotal
moments in Hampton-and American history- on “Hampton History, America’s Story,” a
new riding tour being offered by the Hampton Convention & Visitor Bureau and
Hampton History Museum. Come journey through America’s past and present as told
through Hampton history experts.

Native Americans thrived for more than 12,000 years
The modern history of the City began

Beginning this Saturday, July 13, “Hampton History, America’s Story” will include a
brief riding tour of NASA Langley! Stops include a tour of Variable Density Tunnel
outdoor exhibit at the Reid Conference Center, as well as a drive-by of the gantry and
wind tunnel.
Tour the Hampton History Museum and St. John’s Church before boarding the bus for a
two-hour riding tour. The tour departs the Hampton History Museum at 10:00 a.m. and
returns at noon.

The Hampton History Museum is located at 120 Old Hampton Lane. There is plenty of
free parking in the garage across the street.
Partially bordered by the Hampton Roads harbor and Chesapeake Bay, Hampton, with
the 344,000 sq. ft. Hampton Roads Convention Center, is located in the center of the
Hampton Roads metropolitan area. Hampton is the site of America's first continuous
English-speaking settlement and is home to such visitor attractions as the Virginia Air &
Space Center and Riverside IMAX ® Theater, Hampton History Museum, harbor tours
