CHAPTER Pr4
An Act respecting The Royal Canadian Legion
Assented
to
April 19th, 1990
Whereas The Royal Canadian Legion, herein
called
the Preamble
Legion, hereby applies for special legislation in respect of the
matters hereinafter set forth; and whereas it is expedient to
grant the application;
Therefore,
Her Majesty, by and with
sent of the Legislative
enacts as follows:
the advice and conAssembly of the Province of Ontario,
—
1.
(1) Despite any other general or special Act, no
branch of the Legion may mortgage, lease or convey real
property unless,
(a)
authorized by resolution passed by a two-thirds
majority vote of the members of the branch in good
standing who are present and vote at a special or
general meeting of the branch; and
(b)
the consent in writing of the Ontario Provincial
Command or the Manitoba and Northwestern
Ontario Provincial Command, as applicable, is first

(2) Notice of the meeting under clause (1) (a) shall be
given to members in good standing by mailing it to the last
known address of the member at least ten days before the
meeting.

(1) If the charter of the Provincial
Command

Legion is revoked or suspended, the Dominion Command of
the Legion may register in the proper registry or land titles
office a certificate, signed by the president and secretary
under the seal of the Dominion Command, stating that the
charter of the Provincial Command has been revoked or
suspended.
Upon the registration of the certificate under subsection
(1), the real property held in the name of the Provincial Command vests in the Dominion Command.
