3rd Grade News September 29th – October 3rd This Week in 3rd Grade: Reading: We will continue practicing reading, thinking and recording our thoughts, and then talk about our reading to enhance reading comprehension. Writing: Our focus this week is using research articles to write a paragraph using facts, main idea, details, and linking words. Math: This week, we will learn about fact families, parts-and-total stories, change number stories, and subtraction algorithms. Character Trait: Habit #1: Be Proactive I’m in Charge of Me I take initiative. I am a responsible person. I do the right thing without being asked, even when no one is looking. I choose my actions, attitudes & moods. I do not blame others for my wrong actions. Coming Soon! Book Orders have been sent home! This is an opportunity for students to explore topics they are interested in. There are 3 simple rules: #1: Topic has to be approved by the teacher. #2: Must be researched. #3: Must present & share. Please help your child brainstorm some ideas. Planners/ Agendas: Please initial your child’s planner/agenda every night. We are trying to form good study habits. Please remind your child to tell you about their day. Also, take a look for upcoming events in the calendar portion, and any news on behavior.
