Stingrays Look For Sweep In Final Meeting With Florida Sunday
The South Carolina Stingrays face-off with the Florida Everblades for the
10th and final time Sunday afternoon at the North Charleston Coliseum.
The Everblades have been at the top of the South Division standings all
season and currently have 81 points. South Carolina is looking to climb
back into the fourth and final playoff spot in the division this weekend.
They are now in fifth place with 67 points which is just one behind the
Cincinnati Cyclones, who have played two more games than SC. The
Stingrays and Everblades have met nine times this year, with the Rays
having a slim advantage, going 5-4. Florida is leading the division despite
playing the least games of any team in the ECHL. The Everblades are in the
top-10 in the league in both offense (9th) and defense (2nd). The team’s
penalty killing units are tied for third in the ECHL at rate of 84.6%.
Stingrays Top Blades With 2-1 Win During Pink In The Rink
Rob Flick scored twice for the second straight game and Parker Milner
made 29 saves for the South Carolina Stingrays in a 2-1 defeat of the
Florida Everblades in front of 7,078 fans Saturday on Pink In The Rink
Night at the North Charleston Coliseum. Flick’s tallies extended his point
streak to five games and gave him 29 tallies on the season, while Steven
McParland factored into the scoring for the fifth straight game and Milner
earned his 19th win of the year. The Rays took a 1-0 lead on Flick’s 28th
of the year at 10:27 of the first period and never relinquished the lead.
Flick added another strike for the lone goal of the second at 8:38. The
Everblades made it a one-goal game when forward Stephen Macaulay
scored at 12:28 of the third period, but Milner shut the door thereafter and
held on for the win.
