Literacy
Learning Targets:
“I can read a story and tell what the theme is of the story.” “I can read a story with fluency.”
Students will read short passages and determine the theme or lesson of the story. Students will read
stories with a fluid voice that sounds like a talking voice.
Math
Learning Targets:
“I can compare fractions with unlike denominators.”
Students will find a common denominator to create equivalent fractions to compare using less than
greater than or equal to.
Writing
Learning Targets:
“I can find facts about famous African Americans.” “I can create a book about biographies of
famous African Americans.”
Students will read stories, watch videos, and research the internet for facts about famous African
Americans. Students will write a first draft in their journals using their organizer about a famous
African American.

Reminders: Please turn in your Student Led Conference Sheets as soon as possible!
Social Studies: “I can tell about six famous African Americans.” Students will research six
famous African Americans and be able to tell facts about each person.
Science: “I can tell what a variable is.” “I can experiment with variables to see if changes are a
benefit or detriment.” Students will explain what is a variable. Students will do an experiment and
then change the variable in a subsequent experiment. Then students will explain if the changing of
the variable was a success or failure.
*Please insure that the student comes prepared with pencils and headphones/earphones.*
*Students need to be at school by 8:00 a.m.
